Sarah Palin gives secret talks to Chinese.

I've been good. I haven't started a Sarah Palin thread in some time. But I just can't help it, I love her so much.

Media shut out from Palin's Hong Kong speech

Yes, our favorite little governor/hunter/hockey mom is traveling to China to give a speech. No big deal. Reagan did that too after he left office. But why is it secret?

Oh, I suspect it is just some rah-rah thing and a lot of Chinese are probably curious about her, and I know Clinton and Gore have both spoken at the conference, but then, they didn't quit office either. Is this her plan to help America? And why aren't the right wing screaming? Hell, they gave Obama grief for talking to other countries even though he was a presidential candidate.

I'm guessing the haters of Godless Commies are going to bite their tongues on this one. Maybe they figure Sarah will set them straight.

But of course, we know the real reason why Citizen Palin is giving this speech:
[quote=CNN]
There has been speculation Palin could receive upwards of six figures on the speaking circuit, though the organization is remaining tight-lipped on that matter.
"We never disclose if, or how much, our speakers are remunerated," Wheeler said. [quote]

I guess Levi Johnston wasn't lying to us.

Important facts to prepare Palin:

* Asia is not a country
* She can, in fact, see China from her hotel window
* No, they're not really all walking around upside down
* If she were to dig a hole from her home to the other side of the planet, she'd end up south of Africa, near the Antarctic.
* Godless atheists are in the majority
* "Hockey mom" means nothing whatsoever to them

I'm almost absolutely certain that there's some difference between someone resigning from a public office and then giving a private lecture, and someone campaigning for high public office while meeting with foreign officials, but I can't quite figure out what it is...

Campaigning out of season?

Let's hope winking isn't some serious social offense over there.

I fixed your words.

In honor of the troops, why doesn't she just stay in Hong Kong?

Why is Sarah Palin appeasing the Communists??

Hasn't she learned the lessons of history??

I was at a business conference a few years ago and Bruce Jenner was the
hired speaker. The company paid so I felt obligated to at least show up. I only lasted a couple of minutes. What an idiot! I would sit through hours of a Bruce Jenner speech rather than minutes of Palin.

I am nothing but pleased that the Palin's speech is closed to the press. Ritualistic press coverage of her every utterance is more honored in the breach than the observance.

Okay, new betting pool: Number of months until the Playboy spread.

Come on, you know you want to get on this one. I call 13 - right before next November, when she realizes that no one's putting her on the ticket of anything, and her fame is just about sunk.

Plus it's an unlucky number, and lets face it, she probably hasn't aged as gracefully as all that.

Perhaps they're just hiding the fact that her Honkonglish isn't that fluent.

If it were a closed door speech by a Clinton you can bet there would be a lot of dark rumors being bandied about.

How do you say "That Woman is a Freaking Idiot" in Chinese?
That is what I got a feeling the general reaction to her after the speech was, if her speech was like her normal speeches...

That's because Clinton probably knows a lot of important secrets. Sarah Palin doesn't know where Africa is. The only conceivable danger of her speech to American concerns is the Chinese taking her seriously and following her advice. And that's only a concern because we don't want the Chinese to stop making cheap crap for us and start hunting moose.

Actually, there's no real evidence that she doesn't know where it is (at least she's never claimed she can see it from her bedroom window); only that she insisted Africa was a country.

As to the rest of it...yeah...the only thing that she's gonna' reveal is more stupidity...and that's far from being a secret.
