23 minutes in Hell:

Listening to Rev. Bible Thumper preaching Hell and Damnation to a congregation of scared people:

"You will all burn in the Fires of Hell and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, and for those who do not have any teeth they will be provided.'

I think you are giving this guy far to much credit. I think it is just pure greed triggered by Don Pipers best seller 90 minutes in Heaven. At least Mr Piper had an excuse for his visions.

I've only just seen this second site:
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Wolves/bill_wiese.htm

From the conclusion:

Quote:
Why is the Bible under so much attack today? The answer is obvious--because It is GOD'S WORD!
Still, it was interesting to see that 23 minute visit and the business it's spawned debunked from the other side, as it were.

Dear citizen.

You have been selected for a mandatory guided tour of the No 20 forced labour camp. This is for you to be able to tell your fellow citizens that the labour camps are very much real, which in turn will inspire them to re-evaluate their lives.

A party associate will retrieve you from the doorstep of your apartment building at 7:00 sharp on Saturday, September 26th. Failure to be ready for pick-up on time will lead to an extended stay at the prison camp.

Your Dear Leader,
Kim Jong-il
If it was ever proven true that Yahweh existed and his Hell was a literal place of eternal torture, I'd undertake to find that metaphorical river to China (in this case, it'd have to be a parallel universe or something) and get as many people as I could over to this parallel universe where they'd be free from the tyranny of this monster.

It's typical because it works. The various dictators on Earth have their own little 'hells' for dissidents who do not obey.

The difficulty with Christians who take Hell literally is they're so utterly unable to see that the use of 'hells' is actually wrong. They can go on and on about evil atheist leaders and the terrors of the gulag, but when it's their own Dear Leader being questioned, they all of a sudden start raving about free will and how the heathens brought it upon themselves.

Not sure how bad Hell really is? Well, just your luck -- I've been there, and lived to tell the tale. Let me tell you this story. It's got prison cells and really, really hot heat.

What a sucky preacher.

Come on, really -- Are you seriously saying that's worse than the Hell in the sucky preacher's dream? Because you must really hate whiny atheists beyond a lot to have those screwed up priorities.

What a sucky preacher.
Yeah, if he really wanted to scare me, he should have quoted James Joyce's preacher in Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. The hell depicted there is much scarier.

He believes hell is located in the center of the earth. I wonder how common this belief is among Christians and whether we have any strong scientific data that would render that an impossibility.

Makes for an entertaining case study.
She says "Bill and I had gone to sleep that evening" which should have been the opener, after which "Twenty Three Minutes in Hell" flashed on the screen.

Why hell? For that, one would have to listen to a couple with a dysfunctional sex life ....

Sorry the opening lines she spoke and the title make me laugh and find a great joke gone wanting.

I had a dream the topmodel Simone Villas Boas got her own TV show. That would be much better to come true than that a horrible God exists who created Hell.
