Water found on Moon.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...cle6846639.ece

"Dreams of establishing a manned Moon base could become reality within two decades after India’s first lunar mission found evidence of large quantities of water on its surface.

Data from Chandrayaan-1 also suggests that water is still being formed on the Moon. Scientists said the breakthrough — to be announced by Nasa at a press conference today — would change the face of lunar exploration.”

Cool.

Cool.
Moon surfing, the next "must have" vacation package.

Err... I'm going to remain skeptical about how significant this could be until I hear about some independent verification. Is there any indication this isn't just ice from some of the various meteors that strike the Moon on a regular basis? Is the water present in any useful form (like ice), or in useful quantities? How much water could be present on an object with such a low mass (and thus low gravity)?

They probably just found the lavatory of the secret Nazi moonbase.

Well, this little tidbit from Futurama seems all the more relevant now...

We're whalers on the moon,
We carry a harpoon.
But there ain't no whales
So we tell tall tales
And sing our whaling tune!

Much better analysis of the situation. Still interesting, but in very different ways than it seemed to be at first.
