Talking Rush Limbaugh gets punked re: "Obama thesis"

Linky

Quote:
It must have seemed so perfect. An obscure blogger unearths some pages of President Obama's college thesis. The report supposedly comes from big-time journalist Joe Klein of Time magazine. And the thesis has some real gems: like Obama's disdain for the Constitution.

The whole thing was nothing more than a satirical post on a humor blog. But Rush Limbaugh, who quoted from the supposed thesis on his radio show, sure wasn't laughing. ...
Here's a link to Limbaugh's show where he gets soooo punked.

the context of Rush "not caring I know he thinks it" relates to quotes made up about him regarding slavery. People didn't care he didn't say it they know he "thinks it"

I'd have to say that for an eunuch it would be pretty impressive to go off half-cocked.

he was making a tu quoque style argument, which doesn't excuse his making it.

So curious - Rush is a gullible person who doesn't bother to fact check and his listeners are being misinformed by him by his aforementioned inability to fact check and bluster about his misinformation. True or false?

He proved that he will take information at face value and bluster about it without checking it out. Yes. I admit it.

I'm disappointed in him. I hate most of the conservative commentators. But I've been a fan of Rush in the past. I think he made a fool of himself in this.

It's clear that Limbaugh here was being sarcastic -- i.e., showing the hypocricy in the attacks on him as a "racist" that were somehow OK because "we know he thinks it". But that clearly doesn't excuse him falling for such a hoax.

Beck ,maybe. You have to wonder if the more strident tone Limbaugh has adapted in the past few months is his attempt to beat Beck at his own game.
But I have a feeling Beck is going to be a rocket..goes up fast, comes down faster. I think with his rolling out a new book once every three months (or rather, his ghost writers doing so) and all the DVD's and personal appreances, he is going to simply overexpose himself, and people will get sick of him.
As for Fred Koch, he is not even on the radar.

Indeed staying power is the factor there. We shall see.

Indeed. But then check out who he funds. In particular he funds FreedomWorks who got the teabag mob off the ground in the first place.

Maybe he fell for it because Obama has said similar things in the past?

But Koch has no chance of becoming a Media figure like Limbaugh or Beck or Hannity. And that is what we are talking about.
