I'll bet it would really shatter those folks to learn that nobody has the slightest idea what Jesus looked like.

Antifog lens cleaner. If I remember correctly, writing on a mirror with glycerol will produce secret message only seen when the mirror is fogged. Of course, the news media, nor the pickup owner, will ever try to figure out who drew it. |

Thats a pretty crisp image - like someone used a template and sprayed anti-fog on the window.

No need for a break-in. The condensate's on the outside. I'm thinking Frank Zappa. The ancestry is right, and he's more deserving of reverence. The possibility that he might be mistaken for a more ... divine (?) figure would only add to the irony.

Really?
Not in my cars, not usually. Usually it is too many people breathing in the car on a cool day, or too many steaming pizzas picked up on the way home, or something like that. But, maybe I've just not been paying attention (or maybe I have rain-x on all my outside glass so I never notice). Anway, it would be a lot easier to tag the outside glass! |

Rain-X is good.
![]() After the vehicle is occupied the dynamics change. If you're in the habit of keeping your venting on recirculate then changing it to exterior air will make a big difference. All that inside moisture is coming from the occupants, and recirculate leaves no way for it to get out. Depending on the vehicle, running your AC can make a difference. Some automatically do that when you set to defrost. Anyhow, the 'mornin' dew' or 'the frost on the punkin' is out there on all the cars in the morning, too. |

Yup, AC is the trick. Recirc or not makes little difference in my cars most of the time (used to in my little civic), but the AC clears away the fog in a second or two.
I must confess, I work from home so my morning commute is from the bedroom to the study. The Mrs takes the kids to school, so I haven't seen the inside - or outside - of a car early in the morning in ages. So, I'm going to make a template and try it on the Mrs' car first to see if she notices. If it works, I'm going on a window cleaning spree. First a few cars in the church parking lot as mentioned, then in January a bunch of UNC logos on cars in parking lots of that silly little seminary in Durham. |

Wow. I lived in Johnson City, TN for two years. It's about an hour and a half from my home town (which in a rural area, isn't very far at all.)
It really doesn't surprise me. Johnson City, TN is right on the fringes of the Appalachian Mountains (Aka, the belt-buckle of the Bible Belt). It does make me a little sad that this is the first thing I see as far as any national coverage of the area. Better than a murder, I do suppose. I haven't seen anything on the local news station (I'm sure I've just missed it), but I'll see if any of my friends in JC saw anything about it in the newspaper. Either way, I may have to go take a trip down there to see this / perfectly miraculous event. /sarcasm. |

My dad once took a shower and saw, in clear english, the words "Trust Jesus" on the mirror. He was rather shocked, so he showed my mother and brother. As it turned out, my brother, who was around 4 at the time, had climbed up on the counter and written the words in shaving cream. After that incident, dad started covering the bathroom mirror with shaving cream because it is such an effective fog blocker

Actually, I'm pretty sure they'll have no idea how to read Arabic. So, if they're curious, they'll find someone who can (plenty enough at the various nearby universities). How they'll react when they realize it is from the Koran is anybody's guess. But at least at that point they will have involved someone else.

Someone ought to get in there Saturday night and do his windows so that when he gets up for church on Sunday it says,

This is a sooper blown-up version of the pic in the OP. I've made no other changes than a crop and enlarge.
![]() There are obvious jpeg artefacts, of course, but there is also a faint repeating "shadow", or echo, to the right of the Jeebus head. I believe that the Jeebus head was pasted into the image and whatever was originally on the window was erased after the paste instead of before it. The result is that the erasing, probably done with a 'clone' tool, started too close to the edge of the main image and accidentally cloned part of it. I have another theory . . . On staring at the damn thing for too long, it seems to me that they might have copied whatever was on the window, enhanced it and pasted it back, but they still hadn't erased either the original blob or perhaps an earlier attempt that didn't work out. I believe I can see the faint remainder of a completely different Jeebus head to the right of the main one, but I acknowledge that at least some pareidolia is involved in this analysis. In either of the above scenarios, my conclusion is that it's a shoop. Other posters should be able to duplicate my result with basic software by cropping the original image to the same area that I have, and resizing the image to 600 pixels wide, maintaining the original width/height ratio. |

Bump for comments 'cos I hate having stuff going asserted and unchallenged.
Especially if the source is a bit dodgy.

Definitely cool that you found the other face on the window.
Too bad we don't have more/better pics to examine. I keep wondering how he showed the folks at the grocery store. He drove there with no view out that window? Why is the dew so heavy on the vertical windows, but none on the metal? It looked like it was pretty sunny and warm (shirt sleeves) in the picture, etc. Just too many unanswered questions. |

Couldn't agree more with your last statement.
I'd never assert one thing or another with any certainty on such a poor single image. |

There is dew on the metal above and behind the window. The plastic cover on the back doesn't have any dew on it. The man is wearing a shirt with sleeves rolled up, so it may be that it was a cool night that then warmed up (such as would produce condensation). There are pretty significant shadows in the background, so the photo was probably taken between 9-11 in the morning.
I drove just last night with condensation on my window. If you know the area and you can see out the windshield, you don't need to clean the windows. Or, this may offer an explanation: When I roll down my window, it doesn't always contact the side in all places. Some spots get condensation wiped off and some don't. |
