Attention Logic Users: What the hell? Seriously, what the hell?

I'm finding it hard to believe that a self claimed serious program for writing, composing, arranging and producing music, has such a basic flaw that I now have to sit down and stare at the computer, helpless because I can't keep going on with my project until this is settled.

How is it possible that I cannot do such a simple, basic feature as putting the "Play" line right at the edge of the region, because the damn thing simply won't stick to the region's edge? Instead it will land a bit to the right or a bit to the left. Thus, I can't make accurate copy/paste of regions that are attached to each other, without overlapping or leaving a small blank space in between.

The frustrating thing is that sometimes the mouse does seem to work and the dragging of the Play line moves fluently and so you can put it right where you want it... and other times it's this jerky, bouncy thing that you just cannot drag where you want because it skips pixel areas.

Is there a trick to this thing or am I now officially doomed because of a pathetic program fault?

Note: This thread is exclusively help oriented. Avoid comments in the line of "Yeah, Logic sucks. You should have gotten X product".

heh. my hate for Logic is strong. 1,600+ page manual in which you can never find the answer to your problem.

do you have 'smart snap to grid' selected? selector is in arrange window top middle right....

that's my only idea. otherwise Logic and I are not friends.

Hmmm, didn't know about the smart snap to grip option. Will try it.

In the meantime, I seem to have found an option: Instead of trying to put the cursor on the border of the region, I just skip that step and drag the other region that I want to attach to that region's border. So far it seems to work.

Yeah, its odd behavior has to do with how it's defining regions. Probably I was wrong about snap to grid, but it's something like that.

I thought this was going to be a thread about logic.

There exists a world where terms like "Logic" and "Reason" do not mean what one would otherwise think they mean.

More evidence that Mac is a cult: They have their own dictionary that deliberately differs from standard English, just enough to cause confusion and cross-talking.
