Sexy Sarah, what have you done?

"Oh dearie me. I'm being exploited by sexists. The latest cover of Newsweek shows me in some hotpants that I donned for a photoshoot for Runner's World. I never dreamed that they would sell that picture to anybody else. Mean ol' Mainstream Media!

No! don't look! It's too sexist. Don't anybody look at me in that provocative pose, even though it might sell a few more of my books. I'm not interested in making money through tawdry publicity! There's probably some more revealing pictures inside, but don't look at those either!"

All three take only a limited, pulchritudinous approach in exploiting women. Why not the magazine that exploits every facet of womanhood?

Cosmopolitan.

Don't forget the gag, or she might talk and ruin the mood.

God, she's Stupid. It boggles the mind on how this woman can read, let alone become the Governor of Alaska.

I've already said that I do not support her anymore, and think her stunt of leaving the governorship was just that.. a stunt.

Yet I can't help but notice the complete obsession that the left still has with her. You guys don't seem to realize that you betray, clearly, that you fear her.

Some clearly cannot find enough bad things to say about her, even in the best of times. Let it out of your system. Take a big deep breath. It's ok, she's not ever going to be elected to anything more important than some low level congresswoman at best. Relax.

OR, and try to follow me on this one, we view her as a living, breathing joke. She is the gift that keeps on giving.

The "left" isn't a Monolithic entity.

Besides, Sarah Palin is merely a symptom of the Anti-intellectual culture of some political groups in America.

As a conservative, I don't think I can speak for the "left", but I suspect their "complete obsession" has more to do with comedy than fear.

Palin is an embarrassment to conservatives.

Well I'm on the left and I'm obsessed with her. I follow her every move. I find myself saying, "Oh please stay on the scene, Sarah. You are the most wonderful politician of the last twenty years. You are more than eye candy, though you are that too, to be sure. You are the savior of the Democratic Party. Say something. Anything. I sit with bated breath awaiting your next pronouncement. Not since Dan Quayle have I felt this way about a politician, and you're prettier than him. Marginally."

I'm so obsessed, I was in the doctors waiting room today and there were only trash magazines. But I saw a familiar face and I picked it up. For the first time, probably in my whole life, I read an entire article in People. I need help.

One word on that Newsweek cover:

Oh gawd, yes.

In my heart of hearts, I would love for her to run for President so that we could have a full election cycle of hilarity with her. It would be an awful in terms of the fulfillment of democracy, but it would so entertaining.

I think she got fed up with elected office, which is why she quit her governorship. Running for governor in Alaska is one thing, but I doubt she wants to go back under the microscope of running for president again. Besides, she can make money and stay famous by having a ghostwriter write books for her and giving speeches.

Wow. I clicked the link. I'm surprised how mild the picture is. Its baffling that she brought attention to it as sexploitation...unless its all calculated...which is also a baffling prospect.

Even the straightest, blue-haired republican church ladies I know would be un-offended by that cover shot. There's zero cleavage! Think to come of it, i don't think I've ever seen a hint of her tits. The hottie-prude angle? Is that what she's working?

The idea that laughter betrays fear is is one of the most risible and persistent delusions of the right. Risible, because it betrays a willful blindness to the bleedin' obvious; and persistent because there are lots of clowns on the right and people giggle at all of them.

It is also rather useful: a wingnut, once persuaded of this doctrine, will therefore support the most clownish candidates and the most idiotic tactics --- being under the further delusion that in a democracy striking fear into the hearts of the electorate is the road to victory.
