Resource for learning physics, math, biology, and finance
I did a search and couldn't find this mentioned in other threads. http://www.khanacademy.org/ has excellent youtube videos on a wide variety of topics from finance to linear algebra and calculus. I'm currently going through linear algebra because I have forgotten a lot since I was in school.
Usually, videos are a poor learning tool in that they attempt to be stand alone requiring no prior experience. Learning requires new concepts to be built upon previous learned ideas in a series. These videos build on each other and there is a clear start point and end point. I hope that other people find them as useful as I have. |

Thank you, portlandatheist! I spent quite a while on that site and will have another go soon. I've forgotten so much and this is a remarkably easy tool to relearn it!

I haven't viewed any of the finance videos yet but I plan on getting to them eventually. The linear algebra is great and I'm looking forward to doing physics next. Since I've already studied the subject (although a long time ago) I find it very easy to follow but wonder about material that I'd be learning for the first time. Its the best tutorial series I have ever come across.
