Deepak Chopra: "Healthy People Don't Need Satan"
I really wish the entire Nightline segment was online, because this looks priceless. Here's the clip. It was apparently a debate between Pastor Mark Driscoll (who looked like an escapee from a gay leather bar) and Annie Lobert, founder of the Christian ministry "Hookers for Jesus" on one side, and Deepak Chopra and Bishop Carlton Pearson on the other (I don't know who he was, but if he didn't want to look like a pimp, not wearing purple might have been a better idea.) The subject was the existence of Satan.
Here's my favorite quote from Pastor Mark Driscoll (who's also said that evangelical pastors who have sex with male hookers do it because their wives have "let themselves go")
Quote:

Do you think they do this stuff intentionally to make parody impossible? Seriously it is self parody to the extreme. If you showed this stuff to people who didn't know any of the people involved they would they would be as likely to think it was SNL as Nightline.
What is with Driscoll's pronunciation? Accent or something? He seriously sounded like he was saying there is a difference between the crater and the cratun. BTW your link led to an adultery panel instead but the clips are on the same page so no big. |

Huh. It does lead to the adultery panel, but there doesn't seem to be a way to link directly to the Satanic clip. Just scroll down a little bit to get to the entire fun Satan section, including such highlights as "I Was Attacked By Demons" and "The Devil Almost Took My Life." Also, on the right-hand side: a link to "Megan Fox Strips Down to Undies".

Dear gods, that quote looks like some kind of drug addled rant out of Fear and Loathing.

Whoa, that quote would be perfect in a postmodern movie. Quentin Tarantino would like it.
Yeah, Jesus was a real badass with all that "Blessed are the meek", “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, "He who humbles himself will be exalted" and "Love thy neighbor" tough talk. The "spiritually self-righteous" worship a man who preached love, goodwill and compassion and who sacrificed himself for all humankind? Who realize that was the message? Goodness, kindness and modesty are never self righteous, weak or silly, whatever this bully may think. |

It sounds like Mark Driscoll is a bottom.

As I consider DC to be mentally ill, does that mean I should consider him in need of Satan?

Wait, I think Mark Driscoll was joking. He was trying to be hip and funny. That's got to be it. Of course.
