Does he get his tax advise from the Icke forum?

I've seen interviews with him and he didn't strike me as stupid at all.

Everyone's stupid. We're just stupid in different ways. Snipes doesn't strike me as stupid, either, but that doesn't mean he knows anything about tax law. A combination of ignorance and wanting to save large sums of money could easily lead a reasonably intelligent person to do something that, from our perspective, is very stupid.

Blade Trinity, for instance.

I read somewhere that he bought into the whole "the income tax is unconstitutional so you don't really have to pay it" thing.

As a friend pointed out to me lots of IRA men brought in front of the courts in both the UK and Ireland have refused to "recognise the legitimacy of this court" and face long and healthy prison sentences.

It has it's moments, mostly centering on Hannibal King. Not the worst thing I've ever seen, but it's not a patch on the first two.

1. Rob's claim to have removed consent absolutely does not stack up with the evidence;
2. the individual will not be sovereign in Freeman Land/Valley (my own term of art);
3. the individual is not sovereign in current society;
4. freeman consent theory (that is to say, where one can withdraw consent to statute, by notice or otherwise, and is then no longer bound by statute) is total ********.
the freeman movement is now busted.
over 4000 viewings on this thread and not one freeman has come forward and taken up the challenge successfully.

Is it legal to give legal advice that gets people thrown in jail who could have gotten away by paying a bit of taxes?

Should it be?

It should get you disbarred if you're a lawyer, and thrown out of whatever guild it is accountants and financial planners belong to if you're one of them. I could also see the recipient of the advice having a legitimate claim to cover some financial damages from the advisor, providing that the advisor was acting in some real or claimed professional capacity and wasn't just some guy you met at the pub. But illegal, as in something for which the state should go after you? I don't think so. Being batcrap crazy shouldn't be illegal..

Generally speaking, it's not legal to practice law without appropriate licensure. On the other hand, it's also generally legal to speak your mind as you see fit. So as long as your "legal advice" doesn't involve you practicing law,... yes, you can offer whatever sort of gibberish you like.

Here's how Alaska defines it:

Quote:
For purposes of AS 08.08.230 (making unauthorized practice of law a misdemeanor), "practice of law" is defined as:
(a) representing oneself by words or conduct to be an attorney, and, if the person is authorized to practice law in another jurisdiction but is not a member of the Alaska Bar Association, representing oneself to be a member of the Alaska Bar Association; and
(b) either (i) representing another before a court or governmental body which is operating in its adjudicative capacity, including the submission of pleadings, or (ii), for compensation, providing advice or preparing documents for another which effect legal rights or duties.
so as long as you don't call yourself an lawyer, don't represent people in court, and don't charge fees for your advice, you can say what you want.

I guess they can add escaping from custody and resisting arrest to the warrant.

I think that was flee man on the land wasn't it.

I suppose he forgot about his wife in the car

So I suppose they got him in the end.
I cant understand why he ran away if he was convinced the police had no jurisdiction though.

I work for a legal aid program so I deal with these people on a semi regular basis. The world freeman society forums (cannot post the link) have a section dealing with success stories. There are lots of supposed success stories posted there. They also have a section for people who have got into trouble using these theories. The section is called "I need urgent help" and for some reason the stories here are always of terrible problems while the successes only relate to trivial matters.

That's how I've found this usually always starts. Someone gets into trouble for breaking the law, and then starts looking for an easy way out and with some googling, ends up on a freeman site and thinks they have the holygrail answer to everything.

"-I couldn't afford to get insurance, but I drove anyways, got caught, now I need a way out of the fine that is 10x the amount my insurance would have been, what can I do man.
-I googled some stuff and now I'm a freeman and don't need insurance or their rules and I'm not paying the fine man. I don't consent"

It's funny reading the WFS "I need urgent help" section. Everything from "I haven't paid my mortgage in 5 months and they want to take my house, what do I do? " to " I got into a fight and got charged but it wasn't my fault and the cop was mean to me, what do i do" to "the gov't took my baby" to all the standard driving infractions that people get nailed with.

If these people didn't sit around all day looking on the internet for a way to get their mortgage paid off for free, they could be working and actually paying their mortgage

Holy crap! That guy legged it after being tazered.

Those things are not as effective as advertised.

The sad part is, I did try to check out that site......

But if it did exist, it would be nothing but lies! Damned Lies! And a few statistics.

I suspect they didn't get good contact through his clothes. There's also some folks who apparently aren't all that bothered by tasers and the like.

Its a pity none of the staff involved knew their jobs or his feet wouldnt have touched the floor.
The area in question is private property which the owners allow the public access to, at any point you can be asked to leave.
I used to get this all the time in a previous job on a railway station, vagrants think they can just sit about because its a public place, it isnt, its private property.

PS If anyone is a member over there they may like to burst their bubble as they are all backslapping each other at the moment.
