Icke Icke Baby! (where it all began)

Unfortunately I can't post URL links yet, but I would highly recomend any sceptical listeners who fancy a laugh (joyous, or faintly terrified), search for "David Icke Wogan" on Google Video, to see both the 1991 BBC interview, and a newish (2006) interview with Terry Wogan on a UKTVGold show.

The scary thing is how many videos also support Icke. "Brilliant Speech!" Or "You must see this!" Strangely the guy seems so upset that he was laughed at by the original audience. Yeah, the guy who co-hosted Snooker late at night on the BBC, before claiming to have been turned into Jesus by touching nasca lines (or something) was laughed at.

Really? And COMEDIENS of all people made him a target of ridicule? Crikey!

Now, I don't mean to mock anybody for their beliefs, but when a guy stands there and tells people that they are "sheep" for being controlled by evil overlords etc. He wants us to ask questions, but if we question him, we are supporting evil. His video "exposing the matrix" is also worth ignoring, because, er, it has no evidence what so bloody ever for anything other than David Icke not liking the Royals, the Bushes, or anybody else.

Welcome to the forum Tomtomkent and thanks for the suggested videos.

If you use SEARCH to check previous forum threads and posts you will see that the Lizard Man is one of our favourite comics.

I do remember him being in a podcast... is he the guy with the reptillians? Ever so often I see YouTube comments to random videos go "her eyes changed colour, she's a reptillian", and find myself wondering how on earth it is possible to believe something that bizarre. It's like something out of Calvin and Hobbes -- "mom, I'm telling you, our neighbours are dinosaurs! Hobbes saw them!".

I haven't yet served myself with a full dose of Yuck, agh, Icke. It's always been through an intermediary, like Jon Ronson, who has called him a really nice guy. I have seen something from Alex Jones - it's obvious the guy can think (technically) and even has a sense of humor.

We could philosophize until the heat death of the universe why these guys get the attention they're getting. That would be much the same question as Why Skeptoid? It's a silly job, but somebody's gotta do it (and does it very well).

Yeah, that's the guy. He's also the one Brian got a lot of flack for mispronouncing his name.

I remember him being on Wogan. It was a genuine WTF moment.
Icke seems like a sponge that absorbs any crackpot theory or idea. He watches V and the Queen is a lizard or watches The Matrix and believes that life is only virtual reality.
Tomtomkent is right about what is scary. Being nuts is a tragedy for that person. Being nuts and having followers is a tragedy for everyone.
