Phyliss Schlafly - Unmarried women dependent on gov't

http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepol...rom=blog_last3

"Schlafly, who has endorsed 60 Republican candidates in this year's election, may have given the Democrats an early election day gift. At a Troy, Michigan, fundraiser on Saturday, the president of the Eagle Forum spoke out, saying:

"Unmarried women, 70 percent of unmarried women, voted for Obama, and this is because when you kick your husband out, you've got to have big brother government to be your provider."
On Thursday, in an interview with Talking Points Memo, Schlafly repeated her link of single women, Obama and welfare, and added.
"Yes, I said that. It's true too. All welfare goes to unmarried moms. They are trying to line up their constituency for Obama and Democrats against Republican candidates."

I am waiting for someone to ask her if she is including military widows in this unmarried women category.

Does she mean unmarried moms? If so, maybe she should say so. Quite a different demographic than "single women".

What a moron. All welfare goes to illegal Mexicans.

I'm still confused by the argument that welfare breaks up families. Surely they had a reason to split? Why would making it economically harder for them to do so help families?

Actually, it would get more women (and maybe their children) killed because they would be afraid to walk away from a psychopathic battering idiot husband.

The fascist sow is partly responsible for the ecconomic plight of a lot of women because she offered up a bunch of insane arguments against the Equal Rights Ammendment and the kind of idiots who beleived her "mink coat" and "potty" arguments still had a lot of sway back in the 1970s and 1980s.

The world will be a better place when she becomes too senile to string a sentence together.

Split a married couple is one thing. Induce couples to not marry while still producing babies is another.

And I stopped worrying about these trivial amounts of money when it was dwarfed by the Social Security problems. And I stopped worrying about those levels of financial problems when the past two years (is it up to three yet?) we've dwarfed the entire Social Security problem with one year's overspending.

Given that this is the woman who believes that married women cannot be raped by their husbands, I doubt she'd care too much if a woman was murdered by her husband. I'm sure she'll just deliver the ole fundy hand-wave "well he's an imperfect being and clearly she should have been more obedient".

Sheesh, if if all we had to do to get conservatives and libertarians to stop complaining about social benefit spending was spend more money I think we'd have done that a long time ago.

Don't forget the under-taxing of the fat class and of industries that contribute to evironmental degradation.

I always get Phyllis Schafly and Phyllis Diller confused. There's a bit of a difference, I know. But I always picture Schafly as Diller, saying these crazy political things in that wacky voice.

Difference is that there are actually living beings passing for human who actually beleive a story just because she told it to them.

After learning about Phyllis Schlafly and Andrew Schlafly, I've come to the conclusion that the only good Schlafly is a fermented Schlafly.

The Eagle Forum has donated to such prominent GOP hopefuls as Senate candidates Sharron Angle in Nevada, Roy Blunt in Missouri, Marco Rubio in Florida, and Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania. It has also donated $2,000 to Sen. David Vitter, R-Louisiana.
This would be the same Senator David Vitter who was identified as a client of "DC Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey in 2007? No doubt Schlafly thinks his wife did the right thing by not throwing him out.

Yet he doesn't seem to wish to. How strange. It's almost as if he doesn't mind her being absent.
