Actually, I wonder if excluding non-medically qualified homoeopaths could be considered indirect discrimination. A medical qualification is not necessary for practise as a homoeopath in the UK, and (although I have no actual stats on this and this is just going by the ones I can think of) I suspect that a considerable majority of non-medically qualified homoeopaths are female, but that this may not be the case (or not to such a great extent) for medically qualified homoeopaths. I think it is arguable that any unnecessary criterion that female homoeopaths would be less likely to be able to meet than male homoeopaths would be discriminatory.

Don't be surprised if they tell you your FOI is a vexacious request. I think that what they consider to be excessive detail comes under that heading.

I don't think so - they have a statutory duty to interpret an FOIA request widely, even if it was worded in more woolly terms. I'm just helping them! besides, I've had no problem with other similarly worded requests.
