James O'Keefe: Still a Scumbag / Breitbart's Pimp Boy Tries To "Punk" Female CNN Repo

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/09/29/oke...ank/index.html

Wasn't sure which forum this belonged in, but the lying dirtbag James O'Keefe is up to his usual antics again. He apparently tried to lure a CNN reporter onto a boat and make sexual advances toward her in an attempt to discredit CNN. I'm not exactly sure how that would accomplish that.

Somebody needs to sue this kid's ass off to teach him a lesson.

If he never accomplishes another thing in his life, he can take credit for using doctored videos of a scummy stunt to put an organization that advocated for the rights of poor people, including registering them to vote, out of business -- all with the complicity of CNN and other large media outlets.

From the article:

Quote:
...
According to the document, O'Keefe was to record a video of the following script before Boudreau arrived: "My name is James. I work in video activism and journalism. I've been approached by CNN for an interview where I know what their angle is: they want to portray me and my friends as crazies, as non-journalists, as unprofessional and likely as homophobes, racists or bigots of some sort....

"Instead, I've decided to have a little fun. Instead of giving her a serious interview, I'm going to punk CNN. Abbie has been trying to seduce me to use me, in order to spin a lie about me. So, I'm going to seduce her, on camera, to use her for a video. This bubble-headed-bleach-blonde who comes on at five will get a taste of her own medicine, she'll get seduced on camera and you'll get to see the awkwardness and the aftermath.
...
Mentally ill.

The only possible logical reason to try this I can come up with is a double bluff... make CNN think they caught him doing something crazy and then say "HA! That's wrong!"

Except... accusation being equivalent to guilt in the media, his setup basically makes him a sex offender and whatever later retraction could happen won't fix that. I don't see how he comes out of this one looking anything other than creepy.

I saw the gal on CNN - and she was saying one of the people involved in the punk was connected with FOX news, and they were behind the whole set up. She could not confirm that as fact, and stressed it as so

I wonder if CNN will ever stop treating FNC like it's a real news organization, and stop following their lead on what non-story, fake controversy du jour to blanket the airwaves with.

CNN's problem is if they Don't cover the story, they will be accused of "suppresing" the story. It's a no win situation.
And it is not like CNN is not taking potshots at Fox all the time. And it less about politics and more about ratings rivals.

QUestion is can CNN pin it on Fox. No fan of Fox News...I never watch it...but it could be the individual in question who was "connected" with FOx News was doing this without Fox's knowing about it.

They couldn't prove he was trying to bug the phone lines, so they only got him for like trespassing or something. He's on probation.

Here's the thing: Fox plays this competitive game on their own terms. It doesn't matter what CNN does -- Fox needs an "other" for an enemy, and CNN will forever be in their sights. CNN will never get Fox's audience by sort of, kind of playing their game. Fox's audience will hate CNN as long as Fox tells them to, which will be for as long as CNN is a competitor (ie., on the air). The non-Fox audience can only be turned off by seeing Fox-like non-news on CNN.

Breitbart's Pimp Boy Tries To "Punk" Female CNN Reporter

Andrew Breitbart-sponsored fake pimp James O'Keefe of ACORN "expose" infamy attempted to secretly video tape a female CNN correspondent in a sexually compromising position. The stunt failed when the reporter was warned in advance by an O'Keefe associate. (Video here. "Planning document" here.)

Quote:
A conservative activist known for making undercover videos plotted to embarrass a CNN correspondent by recording a meeting on hidden cameras aboard a floating "palace of pleasure" and making sexually suggestive comments, e-mails and a planning document show.

James O'Keefe, best known for hitting the community organizing group ACORN with an undercover video sting, hoped to get CNN Investigative Correspondent Abbie Boudreau onto a boat filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session, those documents show.

The plan apparently was thwarted after Boudreau was warned minutes before it was supposed to happen.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/09/29/okeefe.cnn.prank/
This attempted sexual harassment seems more like griefing than punking to me. It merely confirms my opinion that O'Keefe and his sugar daddy Breitbart are slime who will do anything to embarrass their perceived "enemies."

The reporter was singled out because she is the correspondence of an upcoming CNN documentary "Right On The Edge" about "the new generation of [right-wing] guerilla [sic] journalists." O'Keefe apparently felt the program would less than complementary to slime of his ilk.

The plan looks like some pimple-faced 14-year-old kid's fantasy. Which is pretty much James O'Keefe's maturity level.

"She doesn't know she is getting on a boat but rather James' office. James has staged the boat to be a palace of pleasure with all sorts of props, wants to have a bizarre sexual conversation with her. He wants to gag CNN."

After his little stunt destroyed ACORN, Hannity & Fox News blew so much smoke up his ass it came out his ears. They lavished him with praise, and kept calling him courageous for "exposing" ACORN and The Media™ (that FNC is somehow not a part of).

My guess is, he bought the hype and believed their ******** more than they did themselves. Maybe he should start a blog with FNC's other former hero, Joe the Not-Quite-a-Plumber.

It's hard to make out from the mess, but it seems like he thinks CNN uses pretty reporters to use their charms to get info to embarrass their targets, often the same people they were flirting with. So he wanted to set things up to let her let it go as far as possible? And this would expose CNN for doing exactly that kind of thing?

The boy lives in a world of his own imagining, where people actually think the way he does, and he bases his strategies on that idea.

Yeah, it's hard to follow the logic there. Not to mention the fact that Abbie Boudreau (the "bubble-headed bleach-blonde" in question) is an award-winning investigative journalist. But apparently in this clown's world, because she's pretty, she can't possibly be serious reporter.

Well, from his personal experience with female "journalists," he might reach that conclusion. He has worked with one good-looking woman who is skilled at dressing like a total slut to create an illusion in order to get the "evidence" they needed to support their foregone conclusions.

There's more than one at Fox. (And can we merge this thread with the one in Current Events?)

It should be noted that the term "bubble-headed bleach-blonde" was probably a reference to a Don Henley lyric from the media-satirizing song "Dirty Laundry".

But then again, I don't go around using N.W.A lyrics to describe black people, so this guy still comes off as a misogynistic clown.

Some day this guy is gonna try the wrong stunt with the wrong person and get a bullet as a reward. Which will make me sad because the guy who will have shot him will have to serve time for it.

I say this fiasco, coupled with his last failed attempt to manufacture a controversy, have effectively ended his career. No one but hard-line conservatives will ever take him seriously again.

And on a related note, I anxiously await the CNN documentary on October 2nd that will hopefully detail these shenanigans.
