Wikileaks Conspiracy Theory
I don't see Wikileaks conspiracy theories anywhere, so:
Somehow I get the feeling that Wikileaks is more probably a false flag operation of US intelligence service than an independent organization that mystically is able to resist the power of the elite. An ideal espionage tool: found a website that welcomes leaks. Then raise some waves to get global publicity. Then just sit back and wait for secret inteligence being posted to your mailbox from around the world. Looks like a cost-effective way of data mining. Which the Facebook is anyway. |

Define "power of the elite".
Seriously, what can the US do? The US has plenty of expert hackers (in fact, there are some rumblings accusing them of orchestrating the denial of service attack on Wikileaks recently), but completely and permanently shutting down a website usually requires action in the physical world against the people who run it. I suppose some people probably believe the US wouldn't balk at simply taking Assange and all the other people that run Wikileaks out, but somehow I doubt that. This is even more important when one realizes that any sane person in Assange's position would keep plenty of backups for the data on his servers and quite carefully check for viruses and other malware. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if there are entirely separate servers that can host the site if necessary. The US is good, but a sufficiently paranoid sysadmin can keep them out. Frankly, even if we accept that the US can take it out easily (which, again, is probably through the network), then the capabilities used to do so are most likely on the same level as those required to get in and invisibly steal data. Which is practically indistinguishable from a false flag, since the US ends up with all the data, but the original intent is different. I think proving that one either way would be hideously difficult. |

I pretty sure your not being serious with this thread but those "waves" are a pretty high price to pay in diplomatic relations terms. That's one expensive honey-trap.
Another thing that occurred to me was this is another nail in the coffin for the NWO crowd. If there was a vast omniscient conspiracy running the whole show then things would not be this messy behind the scenes. There would a consistency, lack of friction and shared purpose running through the interactions of nation states. As it is we find disasters and disagreements wrapped up in paranoia and distrust. Looks pretty human to me. |
