SPLC: Sovereign Citizens

This is a really good video. The man interviewed, his son who was on duty was shot and killed by a father and son who were pulled over on the highway

I AGREE

What pisses me off however is the amount of CRAP in the YT comments to this video. The lies upon lies within the comments really shows how OUT of freaking touch with reality that Americans are.

I had no idea what "sovereign citizen" is

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Sovereign_citizen

Turns out it is the same idiocy as tax evader, people trying to make up story to avoid following the law.

There are a few threads in the CT forum on them.

They are just a bunch of freeloaders who want the benefits of society without any of the responsibility.

The comments of some whackjobs on the Internet shows how out of touch with reality a nation of 300 million plus is?

Yeah, unless this is a new guy this got mention over in CT. Check out threads on taxation, freeman on the land (FOTL), and the like.

It is just another form of the "tax protestor" movement. And by "form" I mean "it's the exact same thing with a new name."

Very disturbing video. Very sad.

I make it a habit to never read YT video comments.

My favorite bit is that they use the logic " but not everyone will do what we do, so society won't crumble. ".

If i come into your house and take 5 cookies from your pantry, i am still a jerk. Regardless of if the rest of the neighborhood comes over and eats the rest.

These are the same kind of people that would say " Sure we should get a case of beer/bag of pot tonight." then when it shows up say " oh, i didn't bring any money.". They know that people will , in general let them partake, but they feel they should be able to extend this a-holey habit to every bit of life.

Yes, it is idiotic:
Quote:
the idea that one can renounce one's citizenship in order to evade the laws of the land is not a right recognized in most countries
Because not being a citizen of the country you live in is actually a very common occurrence, and it NEVER frees you from paying taxes, in any country. At best, it frees you from paying taxes in the country of which you are citizen (if any), but never of the country in which you reside.

"You renounce your US citizenship? No problem, you are off voting rolls. Now pay your taxes."
