Question McMinnville, Oregon UFO photos

What is forum member's take on the subject incident? Even the Condon Report investigators seem to have been impressed with it.In a nutshell,a couple of hicks photographed a discoid object.I seem to recall that the negatives were found on the floor of the witnesses home when the researchers came calling.

Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please. Please.

Search this site for prior UFO threads. You will find at least one of inordinate length. Spend the dozens of hours required to read all the posts.

Alternatively, cancel your post and PM me for a succinct one paragraph answer.

They're called the "Trent UFO Photos", and were taken in or around McMinnville, Oregon, on or about May 11, 1950.

They were thoroughly debunked by Robert Sheaffer in 1969.

Quote:
... at approximately 8:20 in the morning of May 11, 1950, a small asymmetrical model was suspended from overhead telephone wires by two very thin threads. It was photographed once, then reoriented either by hand or by its assumption of a pendulum-type motion, and photographed again.
End of story ... nothing more to discuss.

You're excused.

Sometimes, you have to look further than the first two or three hits, especially when investigating a subject that stopped being interesting - or even relevant - before you were born.

See also Bill Hicks' patter on UFOs. "Are these guys intergalactic hillbillies? They travel all that way to buzz the village drunk and whittle some..."

Curious. I just searched for McMinnville and this thread shows up first and http://forums.randi.org/showthread.p...ht=McMinnville shows up second. That was the one I was referring to.

The Trent UFO Photos and What Bruce Maccabee DOESN'T Tell You About His Investigation

Must be the poor kid's dial-up acting funky ... it's gotta be faster than 1200 baud to keep up with teh Interwebz.

Oh yeah and don't miss the wine scene either. There are some good craft wineries out there. Take the wine leave the woo.

Thanks in no small part to Rramjet the 'UFOs: The Research, the Evidence' thread is three hundred billion pages long and counting. Give the lad a chance and point him in the right direction!

I would start at about page 134. Astrophotographer and Mr. S. Cat and others give a critique of McMinnville. And not to be missed is the movie poster on page 135, of course:
