Browne strikes again
In today's Daily Express, (U.K.) Thurs. Feb 24th they showcase and I quote 'a remarkable new book' by a leading psychic who has worked with police on missing persons cases and now says she has been contacted by dead pets. After a period of spitting feathers i dashed off this hastily written note. Please join me in castigating the Express for the printing of this drivel.Harry
What a shame that a newspaper of such standing has lowered itself to print such monumental drivel in the story of dead pets. With a little journalistic integrity,(alas sadly lacking here,) your reporter could have discovered that Sylvia Browne has one, if not the worst success rates in the U.S.A. The prediction that Shaun Hornbecks body would be found was turned on it's head when he turned up safe and well. Also you will not find one police force that will state that Browne helped in any way whatsoever. This fraudulent medium was investigated by The James Randi Educational Foundation when she offered to take the famous $1,000,000 challenge which Mr. Randi has offered for years to anyone who can prove psychic or paranormal abilities.Needless to say she has never turned up for the challenge, presumably because she does not need the money after charging suckers $400 dollars a time for telephone readings. Lengthy studies into all her predictions have been done by the J.R.E.F. and it was discovered that the failure rate was incredibly high. No lost bodies found, no murders solved, just vague ramblings that are the trademarks of such people who prey on the recently bereaved. It is time this nonsense was stamped out and thrown in the trash with witchcraft and goblins. Now that would be a story I would be proud to read in the Express. htf666 |

Complaining to the express about articles on psychics is like complaining to 'Hello' about celebrity features.

I checked the Express web site and was surprised to see that they had printed my letter.I always thought that they buried complaints.I was working under the assumption that any bad publicity for Browne is good news for the rest of us. Harry

Nicely done. The more letters of this type, the better. Better still that they published your letter.

Good letter. And, good for you for taking the time to write it. I think that many of us - at least speaking for myself - often feel like writing this type of response, but then don't follow through.
