It's YouTube. You can put a video of practically anything there and some degenerate will sully it with puerile commentary.

Anyway, it was known ahead of time that helicopter rescue on the Towers was impossible, particularly after the 1992 bombing. The doors to the roof were actually locked.

When you're building's on fire, don't head for the roof. Just get out. Do whatever you have to do to get out.

Despite this, one aviation unit actually tried to land atop one of the towers, but had to call off the attempt after its engines overheated from the incredible fires below. That aircrew could have died, attempting something that was practically impossible and probably futile. Heroes indeed.

Actually that doesn't seem to be the case. In 1993, after the bombing, for example, a number of people were evacuated from the building by helicopter from the roof, and the NYPD helicopter clearly intended to access the building via the roof; prior to departing they loaded up with specialist equipment and FDNY personnel for specifically that purpose.

However as the helicopter hovered over the building the heat from the fires was so extreme that the helicopter's engines rapidly started to overheat, and the pilot had no choice but to leave the area.

Definitely a sad day!! terrible. I saw the video yesterday on msn it's almost 10 years lots of innocent poeople died that day and the history of the world changed. My question is? what is the "good point" of this attackst. Did they improve something, benefit someone, any country? human beein is getting crazy with this self desctructive behavior.

Possibly a greater sense of awareness of terrorism to Americans?

Prior to 9/11, not many people really understood it. Sure, you had the OKC bombing, the WTC in 93, and even Columbine...but we tended to throw a bandaid fix on the issues and move on. 9/11 forced us to recognize our shortcomings and move to make some real adjustments.

Did the attacks benefit Terrorism? I don't think so. Many terrorists sects needed the obscurity to be successful. They are never going to get that level of "hiding-in-plain-sight" in North America again.

Prior to 9/11, not many people really understood it. Sure, you had the OKC bombing, the WTC in 93, and even Columbine...but we tended to throw a bandaid fix on the issues and move on. 9/11 forced us to recognize our shortcomings and move to make some real adjustments. Did the attacks benefit Terrorism? I don't think so. Many terrorists sects needed the obscurity to be successful. They are never going to get that level of "hiding-in-plain-sight" in North America again.
