The 'prediction' looks like an edited highlight of what is probably an even bigger list of failed predictions

thats quite wrong. Brazil is not subject to earthquakes since its quite far from any tectonic fault. And Brazil is half of South America.

I suppose you were thinking of western South America... the Andean countries... Chile, Colombia, Equador, etc

In fact, predicting a strong earthquake in Brazil... now, THAT would be a feat.

The prediction was for all of South America. That fact it was wrong just on the face of it was really my point.

nor did this astrologer.

btw, why ONLY he predicted this earthquake, when there are thousands of astrologers around?

simple:

because EVERY astrologer around is throwing around wild vague predictions all the time.

its quite OBVIOUS that one time or the other, one of the thousands of vague predictions thrown around all the time by hundreds/thousands of different astrologers around the world would be a HIT.

And thats the problem with you. You FORGET all the misses.

If every week I predict that next week an earthquake 7-9 will happen in the Pacific Ring of Fire, one day or the other I will have a HIT.

No, White didnt throw the same prediction everyday, but the whole of the astrologer community threw such predictions everyday. It works the SAME WAY, since you will only pay attention to the predictions that work.

(I cant even say this was a hit, so vague it was. He never predicted a 9+ earthquake, he predicted a 6.6 to 9+ Earthquake... quite vague)

if he predicted for ALL South America, it just shows that not only he doesnt understand the stars, despite being an astrologer (hell, most of them didnt know the zodiac had changed position in the last 2000 years!), he also doesnt know plate tectonics.

again, predicting a strong quake in Brazil, THAT would be a feat. Specially eastern Brazil. (the state of Acre is quite closer to the Andes)

Acre had a 6.5 earthquake in 2010... the only earthquake in Brazil that year.

Only one date left (24 April) for T White’s “accurately predicted” 6.6 plus earthquake somewhere in California to occur. Got your fingers crossed Astro T?

How then does an astrological calculation that is supposed to be 100% right become down rated to '88.9% significant seismic activity'? What does this mean anyway?

Then he went on to say, "There are additional planetary configuration signals I've interpreted that show even stronger quakes by scale - 8.9 to 9.2 in magnitude."

Ermm.... hang on. Firstly, what planetary configuration signals is he talking about? Secondly, why are earthquakes in the range 8 - 8.8 not mentioned and screened out?

Oh dear, only tomorrow left for a big California Earthquake.

I wonder whether Astroteacher will come back to apologise if nothing happens.

About the same odds as a 6.6 plus earthquake occuring somewhere in California on the 24th April (today where I live).

I wonder if any astrological charts indicate that the subject will have a career as a failed astrologer?

Well yes, it is just a matter of time. Magnitude 8+ Earthquakes happen about once a year and 9+ about once every 20 years or so. There will likely be another one before 2030 (am I psychic now?)

Quote:
over 10,000 plus people, starts a tsunami and nuclear accidents.
But according to what you posted he didn't predict how many would die, now did he? Nor did he predict any tsunami. Nor did he predict any nuclear accident.

As for getting "Japan" right... well according to your post he predicted it would happen in "China and Japan, then to the Philippines, along to the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, to British Columbia, Canada, then to California in the United States, stretching down to Mexico and into South America." That's about fifteen thousand miles worth of the most seismically active region on Earth.

You're acting like he said "On March 11 of 2011 a Magnitude 9 Earthquake will occur off the coast of Japan, causing a tsunami. Some 10,000 people will die, and a very serious nuclear accident will happen."

But he didn't. And if he wanted to impress people who aren't gullible, that's the kind of prediction he would need, along with a whole lot more than his word that he made it before March 11.

As but one example... there are places that archive old versions of websites. Can you link to one such archive that shows his prediction from before March 11? Or did he publish his prediction on a TV or radio show that archives video, or at least transcripts?

That's what skeptics want when they talk about evidence. "Look at his website" just doesn't cut it.

I think this thread is getting more like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Another hit!

Scoff all you want, but it looks like a correct prediction.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquak...uakes_all.html

As revealed, a 3.0 on the 24th in California!

Well, it says Baja California, but that's almost the real California. And 3 is almost the same as 6.

But wait! On the 23rd, which is very close to the 24th, there was a 3.5 in Nevada, which everyone knows is just a different name for California.

Oh Noes! Look further down!
3.6 2011/04/23 13:49:29 33.015N 116.323W 3.5 23 KM (14 MI) SW OF OCOTILLO WELLS, CA

3.6 plus the 3.0 for the 24th makes 6.6!!

It is clear that this guy is onto something!

(Or on something; not quite sure).

V.

I would have been more impressed had he accurately predicted *unusual* earthquake activity, like the TWO recent 5.0+ earthquakes in northern Australia...

Bet she's still reading her horoscope.

Meanwhile, the Global Astrologer has not made a post since his earth shattering predictions.
