Sarah Palin e-mails

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_1...51-503544.html

So, they'll find something interesting enough to make into a "story" about this "politician"... right?

Here's the thread for it, let the speculation begin!

Calling it now: anything newsworthy in the least will either have already been deleted (not in the archive) or you'll see some sort of "private information redacted" flag with some frequency.

I was online in the 90s, when AOL and WebTV were popular. I've long since stopped being surprised that there are people who can't count to 21 without dropping trou but still managed to figure out how to use email.

Evidently the New York Times and the Washington Post think there's going to be something interesting in there. They've asked for the public's help in reading all 25,000 of them and reporting back on items of interest.

Did they do this when Obama ran for president?

Hmm...

That's a general crowdsourcing technique when you have a document dump of this magnitude. Now I'm not sure (no sarcasm here), but I think that when Obama was a Senator, he actually used his .gov email address, meaning that emails could be FOIAed. I'll let the lawyer-types jump in here, but all I really know is that there is a point of distinction in that Palin purposely used the yahoo address.

Obama had to bend over backwards just prove he was an American citizen, and you're going to complain about unfair scrutiny of Sarah Palin?

Did it ever occur to you that someone might just not have heard a news story? (If it is even true, that is.)

Or does everyone who is on the opposite side of the spectrum as you have to be an idiot?

Personally, I won't be interested in any of Quitter Palin's emails unless they have an image attached to them of some sexy body part bulging against the clothing covering it. Why should we let Rep. Weiner have all the fun?

This is frightening. The Left so-hates Sarah Palin that they will do this without significant objection and, in fact, with delighted approval amongst themselves.

I think you're confusing "hates" with this...

These are public records. They do not belong to Ms. Palin any more than the Watergate tapes belonged to Nixon.

This frightens you, Jude? Really? Three and a half years of birther nonsense, bought into by some of the leading lights of Teh New Right? That doesn't frighten you? But a scroll through recently released (and vetted and censored) communications of a public figure (on the public payroll at the time), that frightens you?

Hyperbole maybe have found a new standard bearer.

....yes, the nebulous american 'left' that is really 'far right' to the rest of the world.
this just in from london......

"What [limbaugh] doesn't understand is that Palin's nutsiness is not a partisan matter in Britain, or anywhere else in the world. It is an obvious truth marvelled at by all. Palin's emergence as a serious figure in American politics has made the country a laughing stock across the world. The idea that a stateswoman like Thatcher, in advanced dementia, would be used by such a crackpot is simply unseemly."

conservatives are also supposed to be all about less government control, unless that control is exerted to control women's bodies, or forcing christian religion down everyone's throats.

It's about that savin' the taxpayers' money dontcha know.

Remember, she was introduced to the national stage as an anti-pork non-partisan maverick who said no to the "Bridge to Nowhere" and who is the most knowledgeable person about energy in the country. Of course, we quickly learned those were all lies.
