I remember a thread a while back with someone stating that it was absolutely ridiculous that an earthquake could have any effect on the atmosphere. I allowed that just because we had not seen it yet didn't make it an impossibility. Maybe this is the kind of thing I was thinking of.

Nah, you were thinking of something else.

As our ability to detect finer, smaller, bigger, or whatever increases, we will still be amazed at new knowledge. Galileo's telescope and planets, Leeuwenhoek's microscope and cells, the cosmic background big bang remnant, Ghosthunter's EVPs and disembodied spirits, all were astounding firsts (well 3 out of four ain't bad, I heard somewhere).
