Sovereign Citizen exchanges gunfire with police.

A Texas man pulled a gun when an officer approached him over an arrest warrant for traffic charges.

More details on the legal comedy that resulted in the arrest warrant.

From a traffic ticket for driving without a seat belt to an attempted capital murder charge in just under a year and 5 months. Slow and steady gets you the WIN.

Okay, did I miss something? What's this "sovereign citizen" group?

There is a long -- really long -- thread dedicated to this idiocy. Warning: reading some of the posts may make you dumber.

Oh, it's part of the whole FotL thing... Although I never followed that thread, I have some general understanding what it is about. Still, gaaah!?

I got into an argument with what I would call an amateur FOTL the other day. I knew more about it than he did but he kept insisting the british NAVY owned my Jaguar because it took a boat across the ocean to get here from England.

I love this line:

Quote:
After his release, Tesi was to appear in the Colleyville Municipal Court but that appearance on Feb. 20 did not go well with the city judge.
I can just see this guy sitting in his jail cell thinking, "Why are they doing this to me? I said all the right magic words." I'm sure he can't fathom that all the crud he's swallowed is still crud when regurgitated in court.

You're lucky. Just send the Navy the bill when repair time rolls around. (If it's an older 12 cylinder, I'm betting cooling system.)

If it's an old 12 cylinder model and you aren't in a dry state it will be rust.
I have had severa V12 Jag XJS models over the years, never had a problem with cooling but had problems with rust as they got older.

I've wondered if this guy arrested in Utah was not revealing his identity because he's a FotL kook. Don't have enough details to go on.

You were lucky.

I just assume everything I own is going to rust, I'm in the road salt capital of the midwest.

It was probably more fitting when he was younger.

I did have problems on all of them with the minor electrics, door mirrors stopping, windows stopping etc. Plus the aircon on all 3 would decompress over a few months and have to be pumped up again.

Mine can't rust any more, it's 99% filler.

It's got cooling problems though.

"an exchange of gunfire" sounds so polite.

"you first"

If that was your name, and you did not pick porn as a career, you are obviously going against the law of the universe.

Fotl'ers love to talk about the universal laws that govern us all, while apparently spitting in the face of one of the most recognizable. If your name sounds dirty, you must be a porn star.

Maybe that is what it is, some research would probably show us all Fotl'ers have names like...

Richard Hardwick
Mo Todger
Phil Crackswell
Dick Plenty
ETC.

And are just ****** off that they must choose a career they don't want.

Well, it quite obviously sounds better if you use it in its real form, i.e. Phil, of the house of Beavers.

There is a house of Beavers.
It's caaaalllleeddd the riiiiiiisin' sun...

What worries me most about this story is it doesn't surprise me at all. If anything, I'm surprised more of these nutjobs aren't starting gunfights.

I actually took time and considered how to word the thread title because the articles didn't actually say who shot first.

That's the most believable thing ever said in a FOTL thread, I think.

I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere some exasperated judge just said, "You son, are just too stupid to go to jail. Get out of my court."

I can see that happening once. However, I assume that instead of an "Oops, I really screwed the pooch there but got lucky" -type of a learning experience, Freeloaders take that as a vindication of the FOTL insanity, which means they'll soon be in courts again, trying to pull the same . That is very likely to be when the leniency ends.

This caught my eye:

Quote:
"The subject exited his vehicle and pointed a handgun at the officer. In fear of his life, the officer raised his weapon. An exchange of gunfire occurred."Tesi was wounded once in the face and once in the foot.

That's quite a range of hits.
