Pajamas Media

What is the opinion of Pajamas Media here? It was recommended to me by a co-worker.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I consider it to be low quality polemic.

I like zombie, that's about it. Charles Johnson (Little Green Footballs) and Pajamas parted years ago because they went off the deep end. Johnson was one of the founders.

It's a partisan source. They were on top of fast and furious before anyone else, but like any partisan source you should get independent corroboration before trusting.

After reading the first few articles in the link all I can say is that it would seem to reflect poorly on your taste in co-workers.

Diatribe. Thinly veiled with pretension. If Rush Limbaugh didn't have to hustle soap to the lowest common denominator he would probably sound very much like that.

There is excellent stuff there. Even if you aren't conservative.

I dare you to tell me that this sort of boots-on-the-ground reporting is thinly veiled diatribe.

I have little interest in digging through a barrel of rotten fruit on the off chance that there may be a good one buried somewhere in the mess.

(Your example wasn't one, BTW. It didn't add anything which anyone with a more than superficial grasp of Egypt's recent and current political history wouldn't already realize. It just took some gratuitous jabs at Islam, added a handful of photos of war memorials with the inference that those are something unusual, a few sly references to North Korea, and a plea for donations to the author.)

Fine. If you apparently know everything already.

Victor Davis Hanson is well worth reading. (Especially if you are on the "other side of the fence" and honestly wish to try and understand the conservative viewpoint).

Global Warming Denier making claims about "Climategate"?

http://www.victorhanson.com/articles/hanson021510.html

Yeah, I suppose you could try and understand grifters and liars, but what does he say that I haven't heard a million times elsewhere?

  1. Global warming is a hoax.
  2. Lowering taxes increases revenue.
  3. Removing regulations makes food safer, cuz free market.

Sigh. I've heard it.

Watch him debate Arianna Huffington on War and Empire. Hanson is calm, measured, reasonable and collected. Huffington leaps from subject to subject trying to cram the word "neocon" or "oil" into every sentence.

It's the kind of badly thought out propaganda that, if I found myself reading a left-wing version using the same level of propaganda and found myself agreeing with it, I would still be thinking "Christ, I hope these aren't the spokespeople for my side."
