Has anyone else heard of this?

National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012

According to some, this new congressional act grants the president more power than he already has, and also allows the president extended powers to detain individuals without questioning and due process (this may also potentially include American citizens). It allows for an extremely broad interpretation of what a "terrorist" is, and also allows for military servicemen to potentially conduct arrests on American citizens (the ACLU claims that this new defense Act potentially nullifies the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act). Thoughts?

LYS, I guess you hanven't been reading this site much lately. Do a search. find the other threads. No big deal. The act has to do with detaining U.S. citizens caught in foreign lands.

The act has to do with indefinitely detaining *anyone* accused of 'supporting terrorists', as you would know had you bothered to read those other threads.
