We are more polite here than the community is
Makes you wonder? What is up with those people. We're the ones who should be hating each other.

Hard to give a stuff, really. Haven't been there for a while, but when I have, it's hard to understand why those people post anything instead of just cut-and-pasting:

Unique is right. This forum in comparison with the Community and especially with those who bitch that they hate politics because they hate to fight is like kindergarden.

I think the bottom line is I don't take it personally if someone calls me a kitten strangling cross dressing Idiot.... Maybe some people do. This is unusual because as far as I know Manifesto is the only cross dresser on this forum and A_U_P only tends to strangle chickens. |

Well I have news for you. It has been reported to me that a specific individual who enjoys making accusations and creating problems has said in PalTalk that I must be a cross dresser as well.
He finds my voice too bass for a woman LOL It's been some time since I laughed that much. So Mr. Manifesto it makes two of us. LOL |

I would like to officially announce I am running for Moderator. Actually, I would like to be the Vicemoderator on the Ed ticket but I dare not ask, lest I be blinded by his wrath and Omnipotent fury. There has been more confirmed sightings of Elvis than some of the names on that list. Its time that we return to good old days when even the Trolls played nice. Get with the program folks, we can't let a little coup from the Community crowd weaked the Iron hand of Moderation. You may note from this post that I am bitter at not being made a moderator in the last round....Its time to put that right.....Vote Ed-Fool in 04. |

The forum is being turned into a place where you must only talk about sensible things and be nice to people. The rest of the forum is effectively being switched off. Currently, there is a concerted effort to get it to implode before Hal pulls the plug. Some of the mods quit because they didn't want the changes made. Some of the others quit because they didn't appreciate the huge rows that blew up subsequent to the announcement. I think that's a fair summary of this ten page free-flowing fistfight. |

So, in essence, there will be a fun forum and a serious forum. Very stupid and typical of bureaucratic thinking. The un-fun forum will get 2 page hits, the fum forum 50^100. The JREF will not be able to claim the same viewership and will look silly. "I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the Saints." And the world continues to go 'round. |

Am I the only person mystified that an internet forum could be the cause of so much discord and ill feeling? Maybe I've a heart of stone and the intellectual development of an amoeba, but how can anyone take an internet forum this seriously (and yes, I've just become aware of all the hoohah over scholarships and such).
Edited to add that I take this place seriously enough to PM a mod to get my post-count restored recently.

I haven't been posting much lately. I'm trying to disengage emotionally from this place so that when the changeover occurs I will have moved on.
But I was just reading through a few threads over here in politics and was reminded of how much I enjoyed them and the participants. I even enjoyed the left wing wackos (you know who you are). I feel a little about you the way I feel about Christians. Your reasoning isn't exactly spot on but at least you're trying to save my soul which I appreciate. As to the rudeness over here, I think it might have been nice if we could have gotten through a few threads on Israel without somebody being called an anti-semite or a nazi, but over all I thought the level of rudeness was just about right for candid entertaining dixcussion. |

I could see myself buying AUP, the Fool, rikzilla, Ed, and others a beer at the same table....said table's balance might be in question considering how many fists get pounded on it that night, but it would be a great conversation. Meanwhile, it appears a sense of humor is reasserting itself over at the Community to replace the catfight (Note--do not invite Denise and Suezrold to same party remainder of this decade) |
