Whew, moving the controversial pic into my second post at least stopped the entire thread getting deleted ... even if at this point I'm only speaking to myself.

You would think that by now Zeuss would know that an OP needs some discussion to get the ball rolling.

And no, a Utube link doesn.t count. If I wanted to watch video, I'd turn on the TV. Or maybe fix my sound card. But then there would be no need for me to haunt JREF, would there?

If its in a foreign language you don't understand, then tell me your language, and I can do my best to get the text in your language to give you a translation.

If you fail to realize that the entire point of this post is based on the content in the video, yet choose to not watch the video, I fail to see how your posts herein will add anything of importance to this thread.

Most people tend to watch the video linked to, and comment on it afterwards.

Problems are:

1)we invented the microchip which removed much of the incentive for sending humans into space.

2)We realised how bad we are at trying to predict the future.

1960's:

"Billy, do you know what astronauts do?"

"They wear spacesuits! I want to be an astronaut!"

2012:

"Billy, do you know what astronauts do?"

"Yes. They fly up in a shuttle and fix things. Sometimes they get killed."

Billy goes back to his computer
