Hilarious Anti-Skrillex Rant from Christian

linky

This article is just so full of amazing stuff that I really can't hope to cover it all, you just have to read it for yourself! A few prize tidbits:
Quote:
Skrillex, a Gothic icon and Lesbian fashionista whose name is Latin for “Homosexual Satan Wasp”, is the biggest act in Dubstep today
Quote:
Skrillex is the inventor of “dubstep” whose sole purpose is to provide a “drop” — common youth terminology for procuring and snorting drugs
Quote:
...that incorporates elements of Warhol-era rampant homosexuality and perversion, electronic “music” and lesbian-influenced haircuts
But my two favorite quotes are these, demonstrating this man's keen grasp of reality:
Quote:
Over 100% of homosexual gays listen to, or have listened to Skrillex in their life
and
Quote:
Skrillex fans are MORE likely to rob a gas station and set a retirement home on fire than 1000% of Christians
Full disclosure: I don't particularly like Skrillex, don't particularly like dubstep...but this article's freakin' hilarious!

ETA: It has been revealed to me, in subsequent posts, that this is a parody...I must admit that I got taken in, mainly cuz I grew up with people who would say things like this and seriously believe it.

I remember this same rant when the Beatles came to America.

It included this as well:

Hey, I grew up in a fundamentalist Christian home where we were taught that any music with a drum beat was Satanic, because the drums summoned Satan. At 15 years old, I secretly purchased a U2 tape cassette, which I listened to covertly...but was discovered. My parents first doused the cassette in lighter fluid and burned it, during which the burning plastic made a slight squeaking sound...my parents announced that this was the sound of the demons escaping from it. I then went through a exorcism ceremony to have the demons cast out from my body (I went through a lot of exorcisms as a child, at least 6 a year, cuz everything was full of demons).

Fortunately, the exorcisms were fairly simple...no holy water, no weird rites...well, other than two grown adults standing above me, waving their hands about wildly, screaming incomprehensible gobbledygook as they spoke in tongues, and "commanding the demons to leave this man's body in the name of JEEESUS, this boy belongs to JEEESUS, you have no claim on his body, in the name of JEEESUS be cast out, and return to the Lake of Fire!" [insert more gobbledygook].

Is rather amazing, in retrospect, that I turned out as well as I did.

On further inspection of the site, I'm inclined to agree. The goatees/neckbeards of the two guys selling the book at the top of the site are far too feminine for this to be a respectable Christian organization.

It took me a few minutes, but I gathered that. From now on, I'll stick to making fun of REAL Christian sites, like Landover Baptist.

Wow, I looked up Skrillex on wikki and the picture of him looks a lot like one of the young men I knew from Sunday school when I was a teenager, only with fewer piercings. He was a good person and a great contributor to the youth group.

Then again, I was raised Unitarian Universalist...

Me too. Although I'm relieved that I never had to watch as my music was destroyed or go through an exorcism. There was one time when my cassettes were all out of order and I realized that my parents had taken them to listen to in the car in order to check for any Satanic influences. And I do remember hearing people like James Dobson and others rant about the rampant Satanism in popular music. I remember Jerry Falwell preaching that The Police were telling kids to murder everyone in their families with the song Murder By Numbers (still on of my all time favorite songs). I wondered how he could possibly have missed that the song was an acerbic satire about the way people use politics and nationalism to justify mass murder. It may have been the first time I heard an evangelical preacher say something that I immediately realized was just plain stupid. Looking back on it, I wonder if it wasn't my interest in music that first led me to doubt the authorities that I had been raised never to question.

I particularly liked this quote from the article:

Skrillex, a Gothic icon and Lesbian fashionista whose name is Latin for “Homosexual Satan Wasp”

Mr. Figs' idea of Latin is rather bizarre. Of course, if AvalonXQ is right, the parody might have been dreamed up by Skrillex.

This is the sort of thing that led me to believe (as a child) that the Southern Baptist Church was liberal. Heh. That particular church moved considerably to the right (I'm sure all the really good books in the library were removed) at some point after I was able to stop going, which disturbs me, since my mother has always swallowed the BS they pass out.

I'm skeptical. I tried two translation sites and the word was unknown. And going from English to Latin only satan translated. Neither wasp nor homosexual had a commonly known translation.

I await other opinions.
