Sylvia Browne on "Live! with Kelly" this morning

I received an email this morning from someone who said that they had just seen Sylvia Browne n the "Live! With Kelly" show.

Fortunately, I read the email in time for me to catch the show myself, at 11am our time (Pacific).

Browne looks like she has gained a considerable amount of weight, although some of that may be the big, blousy outfit she wore.

She also seemed a bit less...cocky tha usual. Perhaps the loss of her weekly appearance on The Montel Williams Show has brought her down a peg or three, and she can no longer afford all the attitude she used to exude.

The show, hosted by Kelly Rippa (former co-host/sidekick of Regis Philbin), is a typical daytime talk show.

One prdiction she made which may turn out to be testable at some point:

The show is evidently looking for a co-host. Today's (temporary) co-host was Tyler Perry).

At one point in the show, Rippa asked Browne who her co-host would be, Browne said "you haven't met him yet".

It will be mildly interesting to see who ends up with the job. If it is someone who Rippa has (demonstrably) met before - or if it is a "she" (not a "he"), that might be worth a brief mention on my site.

Most of her appearance on the show - relegated to the final fifteen minutes or so - consisted of her giving readings/answers to some people in thestudio audience, such as (paraphrased from memory):

Woman: Where will my daughters go to school and what will they study?

Browne first got the woman to say that the daughters were of college age (thus sparing Browne the possible embarrassment of naming a preschool or something). Then she answered:

Browne: She wll be going somewhere back East, and she will study journalism, because she is good at...drawing, and things like that.

Man: Will my wife and I have another child? And, if so, will it be a boy,or a girl?

Browne; A boy. A big, fat boy.

...and more of the same.

Today;'s show was the kickoff to "Psychic Week". The only other psychic they mentioned as being n later this week was the woman from the Long Island Medium show.

Maybe i was wrong, but didn't the old Brujah say she was retiring pretty much forever ago?

I keep getting more and more annoyed the more i see her not doing that, if for no other reason than it is another in a long list of B.S. she has spouted.

As good at career guidance as she is at being a psychic I see. If someone is good at drawing, wouldn't they be better off studying the graphic arts ?

I am going to guess also, RS, please keep track of my guess along with hers to see if I did a better job. Her co-host is going to be a man. I see short brownish hair, he is skinny, mid 20's, and only slightly taller than Kelly. He is white, and for some reason I keep getting the letter J. Also, he lives in New York.

It is a zinger of great beauty and utility. I remember reading it in HGTTG and memorizing it, thinking that it would be useful.

Well, there are quite a few other popular psychics now who have not come under the scrutiny of a Stop Site or had a miss quite so well-known as the Shawn Hornbeck one. So just seems odd to me that all of that would be overlooked on a show as popular as Ripa's.

In my mind she is a "has-been." Done, debunked, proven to be a fake. Reduced to selling juicers on late night TV. Obviously the rest of her fan base lags behind me on this.

Glad you sent the viewer feedback. Will be interesting to see if you get a response.

Thanks RSL. I am sorry to hear about Hal Bidlack. We have quite a few close friends who have been evacuated. We are on the northeast side of town, and the fires are still up fairly close to the mountain west of us. 32,000 people evacuated so far, and the air is so thick with smoke it makes your eyes water, and still we have record heat and the winds expected to pick up again this afternoon. Awful.

Perhaps you are just taking a subtle dig, but in general, no. The donkey leads the cart, not the other way around.

Also, I happened to be home that day and the channel was still on from the morning news. I couldn't believe how low the show had sunk. I don't think they did crap like this when Regis was still on, did they? Some producer is either an idiot credophile, or a soulless bastard.

I'm going to give her some credit here and assume her phrasing was intentional. It gives Browne considerable wiggle room. She doesn't specify a daughter, so "study journalism, because she is good at...drawing, and things like that..." could be in reference to any of the daughters in any creative arts/writing field.

I just watched that segment, and the only joke she attempted that was even remotely funny was when she said that she has a ball in her hip and that when she is cremated that her kids will get that ball in memory of their mother. Well, it was SORT of funny...

Psychic Week, eh? I'll have to watch the rest on YouTube. I suppose that since Sylvia is known but no longer terribly busy that she was the perfect choice for the show.

So, she will also be in Vegas at the same time as TAM? Cool! I can't wait to hear how things go. Heck, if she finally lives up to her promise she can claim that million bucks... LOL

The LngIsland Medium woman, a pet psychic I had never heard of, and an "intuitive psychic" Ihadever heard of either. Why Sylvia? Why not? She has a fan base, and knows TV. i sent Kathy some Viewer Feedback on the show's web site, expressing my displeasure at Browne's appearing on the show, and inviting Kathy to check out my web site. If I get a reply, I will post about it here.

Well, there are quite a few other popular psychics now who have not come under the scrutiny of a Stop Site or had a miss quite so well-known as the Shawn Hornbeck one. So just seems odd to me that all of that would be overlooked on a show as popular as Ripa's. In my mind she is a "has-been." Done, debunked, proven to be a fake. Reduced to selling juicers on late night TV. Obviously the rest of her fan base lags behind me on this. Glad you sent the viewer feedback. Will be interesting to see if you get a response.

We have quite a few close friends who have been evacuated. We are on the northeast side of town, and the fires are still up fairly close to the mountain west of us. 32,000 people evacuated so far, and the air is so thick with smoke it makes your eyes water, and still we have record heat and the winds expected to pick up again this afternoon. Awful.

Browne first got the woman to say that the daughters were of college age (thus sparing Browne the possible embarrassment of naming a preschool or something). Then she answered: Browne: She wll be going somewhere back East, and she will study journalism, because she is good at...drawing, and things like that. Man: Will my wife and I have another child? And, if so, will it be a boy,or a girl? Browne; A boy. A big, fat boy. ...and more of the same. Today;'s show was the kickoff to "Psychic Week". The only other psychic they mentioned as being n later this week was the woman from the Long Island Medium show. How come You're not on Live with Kelly? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
