Buy a book at TAM! Help the JREF!

The skeptic book for children I wrote this year (last year was "Zigge and Lisa" written with the help of our good, but sadly now gone, forum friend Curnir) is ready to go. The books were written to go to the kids attending the Camp Inquiry. Help from forum members made that book, and now this second book "Fairy Tales, Fairly Told" a reality.

This year, I am bringing copies of the book to TAM. The JREF "store" at TAM will have copies for sale. 100% of the money goes to the JREF. It's my way of saying "Thanks" to James Randi for writing the forward to the book. To say it is an honor to have James Randi write the introduction to your book is an understatement.

yes, that is a very tall James Randi (Noah has never met Randi...)
WARNING! The book has a story with an atheist hero. It also has a lesbian love story (nothing much is made of the two women falling in love and living happily ever after, it simply happens). Unlike "Zigge and Lisa" this book is not safe to hand out to children you know being raised in a fundie family! ("Zigge and Lisa" was very subtle).

The book was written for skeptic parents to have fairy tales that reflect the morals and values they wish to teach their children. I'm especially proud of the new version of the Three Little Pigs where the atheist pig is the one that builds the house out of bricks. The other pigs believed their religious beliefs would protect them from the wolf. While respectful of the believers, the atheist pig recommends education over religion when it comes to dealing with wolves. (and the wolf turns out to be not such a bad guy).

PLEASE, even if just to enjoy the stories yourself, pick up a copy at TAM for only $10. The money goes to the JREF (I've asked it please go to helping with skeptic education for children, such as lesson plans for schools), and you don't have to pay shipping!

The few typos in this first edition make it "more valuable" also. I'll be at the forum welcome table if you want me to sign it, but I suggest you hunt down Randi and get him to sign it. Yes that's him on the front cover.

(My illustrator, Noah Whippie, is a BIG fan of Randi, and with his permission we made him the wizard on the front cover).

All profits from the book will go to skeptic children's education, but at TAM it's the one chance to really make sure the most money goes to the JREF. Once it's up on Amazon and such they take a cut.

Guess what this story is about.....

This looks wonderful, Kitty. I won't be at TAM this year, but I'll certainly be ordering the book.
