Odd graphic issue
Yesterday I reformatted my computer to clean up some OS issues that had been slowing me down. I reloaded from steam the racing game DIRT which for the last year had run faultlessly on the machine.
When in the game about 20% of the track is not rendering. All I am getting are green and white triangles. I run windows 64 bit duel core. I up dated all the drivers and graphic management software. I reduced all the graphic settings to bare minimum but nothing I have done has made a difference. I am in the middle of redown loading the game in the hope something went wrong at that point. If that fails to cure the problem anyone got any ideas of what to try or what might be causing the issue |

Video drivers needing to be updated would be my first guess on anything involving a reformatting of the OS and graphic glitches. Are you absolutely sure that you have the latest up to date drivers and whatnot installed and that they are the right ones?
That specific description also sounds like what you might see with an overheating problem with the graphics card as well. Did you move the PC at all, perhaps somehow blocking cooling ports or knocking something loose inside? Did you just move wires around and\or possibly drop something behind the case that's blocking the ports? Does your machine have temp monitoring built in and if so can you monitor them to rule out a cooling issue? What about other high stress games like that free Alien one (I forget the name at the moment) or trackmania nations (also free). Do they also have problems like this? |

You might also want to try re-installling the DirectX 9 or 10 drivers.
