Hi, PC!
GOTACURAL has something to do with AIDS? Have you communicated this to the medical community? |

AIDS is not known as GOTACURAL.
The earliest recorded, confirmed case of HIV/AIDS was in 1959 in the Congo, and by 1978 5% of homosexual males in New York or San Francisco were infected. A 'prophecy' at the end of 1979 is therefore a post-diction if it was referring to AIDS. Research continues into finding effective treatment and vaccines. The prophecy is nonsense, just as all the other prophecies of your 19 were. |

“A disease known as GOTAMOVON will occur in epidemic proportions all over the land, and such disease will be incurable even by the known specialists of the medical profession. It will cause uncontrollable movement of the arms, legs, and hips. The first known case occurred in 1980 and has been traced to a city called Funkytown, USA.”

The HIV virus can be controlled with antiviral drugs. There are also a number of people (15% of the European population, IIRC) who possess a natural immunity to the virus. One hypothesis suggests that these individuals are descendants of people who survived plague outbreaks in Europe.
Who knows? I might actually be one of that fortunate group, as My recent genetic roots are from Europe. And whatever will you do, Aristeo, when the vaccine is found? I have reason to suspect that one of the contributing laboratories will be the Level 4 Virology lab in My very own neighbourhood (less than a half-hour walk from My front door, in fact). They're good... Real good. Last I heard, they had actually made some progress on the swiftly fatal Ebola virus. All you're doing is setting up Maria the False Prophet for yet another "prophesy malfunction." Perhaps you should start shopping around for a fresh new prophet... One who actually knows something about science, history, geography and human civilization in general. |

Well the Olympic Games have come and gone without WWIII starting, the Spratly Islands are still there, there is no indication of 2 Billion Chinese soldiers gathering to smite the world, research into AIDS is getting more positive options for remission, if not a cure, but PC keeps soldiering on with pointless and usually incredibly wrong statements.

I'm still trying to understand what GOTACURAL has to do with AIDS.
Thanks, oh goddess, for the information about the 15% and the possible connection to the plague survivors. One of the great losers in the plague was, of course, the CornettWP or zink. Here's some of music composed for this instrument to listen to while we await the revelation of the AIDS- GOTACURAL link:
ETA I like this artist's playing more:

Pakeha, that cornett music is great stuff. Love the sound of the instrument.
I did a little more research into the AIDS immunity. Apparently the mutation occurred in Scandinavia -- Inheriting the gene anomaly from only one parent will give partial resistance (15% of the population). Inheriting it from both sides of the family (1% of the population) will give total immunity. It works by putting a biochemical "lock" on a cell so the virus can't infiltrate and take over. |

Doncha just hate it when someone tries to bring data and logic into one of PC's threads? It's kinda harsh on the buzz.

But... It's so much fun hearing whatever new silliness that Aristeo has come up with to explain a flaw in the old silliness. And being introduced to a raft of new fictional characters, too. It's only a matter of time before he tells us that the golem Pontius Pilate that Jesus slapped together out of mud is actually the long-lost sister of Angela Imden's auto mechanic Wheelsaspinning. Or something like that.
The more we debunk, the more creative he has to be. |

...hang on...
I'm rather tall - as discussed (and unanswered, PC) in another thread - just like out Lord Jebus of the Squishy Donkey; my ancestry is Northern British and, therefore, almost guaranteed to be effectively Viking and; I don't have AIDS. Or GOTACATCHEMAL. I think I might be Jebus II, Jebus Harder. I even have long hair and a beard! Hey guys, just worship me, right, and I'll love you for ever. For real. |

Yeah.
Cornetts and sackbutts are marvelous instruments; just don't confuse them with a rusty trombone. That's fantastic news about the natural immunity research, though. Here's a link that explains it for humanities people: http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolib...le/medicine_04 The little map shows Poland has one of the highest percentages of genetic immunity to HIV. Nah, think of it as watching street performers as you stand in a queue to get last-minute tickets for the Ring Cycle. |

GOTACURAL
You know, every time I see that word, I think of a hypothetical MD named Alfred (sometimes Albert) discussing a disease with a colleague, and it translates in my head as: "Got a cure, Al?" Seriously! Norm |

I hear "gotacur(em)all.. Pokémon!" in my head every time I see the word. Although since alfaniner's post above, I also hear Lipps Inc's song. My internal jukebox has remixed the two.

20121211.0900 @Jack by the hedge, #224 It is true that there is no disease since 1979 by the name of GOTACURAL. But the description seems to refer to AIDS. What are the characteristics of GOTACURAL? First, it is a disease. Second, it will occur in epidemic proportions. Third, it will spread all over the land. Fourth, it is incurable. Fifth, it is a human disease, since it says, “medical profession” and not veterinary profession. Which present disease fits into the word GOTACURAL? I believe it is HIV/AIDS. First, it is a human disease. Second, Wikipedia states: “HIV/AIDS is a global pandemic.” It has spread over the world. Third, even though more than thirty years have passed since it “was first clinically observed in 1981 in the United States,” (Wikipedia) a vaccine has not been found yet to successfully treat the disease despite massive amounts have been poured into its research worked on by the “known specialists of the medical profession.” The specialists know a lot now about the disease but still unsuccessful in producing a vaccine. Wikipedia states: “As of 2012 there is no effective vaccine for HIV or AIDS.” From the webpage, GOTACURAL may be divided into four parts: GOT, A, CURA, and AL. GOT is synonymous to acquired. What is AIDS? Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. A is a prefix for Latin or Greek word to mean not or without. CURA is a Latin word for medical attendance or healing or cure. AL is a suffix meaning relating to or characterized by. Hence, we can say that GOTACURAL is a disease characterized by being acquired and by being without cure. |

So, I will make a prediction. A major earthquake over 8 will occur in Drebinslab next year. Drebinslab is a city of more that 50,000 people and is close to a major fault line Now, since there is no such place, I can make a legitimate claim that my prediction is successful IF there is ANY major earthquake (8 or more) near a city of more than 50,000 on or near a major fault line. Simply because 3 of my 4 statements will be correct.
But then PC, you believe any nonsense which is fed to you. So sad in a train wreck sort of way. Norm |

You're starting this again? Why? You know it's completely unnecessary. You've repeated this nonsense over and over again, and that doesn't make it any truer. Doesn't the old fraud Ka Apaz have some new material? This is over 30 years old. Oh wait, she did have that prediction about the London Olympics not happening. How did that turn out?

Hi, PC.
I think your break down of the meaning of that 'word' is one of the lamest I've ever seen. A mix of English and bad latin and a lot of wishful thinking. I've only seen one worse. A new age pyramid seller tried to convince me the word 'pyramid' meant 'the fire within'. No, I didn't laugh in his face, I just smiled, nodded my head and walked away. But back to PC. Your medium is shown to be way wrong on every point she'd spoken of. Remember the Pontius Pilate golem? Angelina Imden? Why even bring up this ridiculous claim and try to fit it to AIDS? |

Gotacural is *NOT* AIDS. You're being dishonest PC... you saw the posts saying that some people are immune to HIV and how a man with AIDS has been pronounced HIV-clean.
Here's the link: CCR5WP. Read it calmly and see how Alvaran fooled you again. I know you can do it. |

So what? What is the next step, in your mind? |
