God ordered kidnapping

http://www.startribune.com/stories/484/3755432.html

God told Brian Mitchell to kidnap Elizabeth Smart as the first of his "seven additional wives".

Is this the same God who's giving George W. Bush advice on how to run the USA?

No, he must be an A-Theist. No religious person would ever do such a thing. You don't have to take my word for this, you can ask Jedi Knight.

See, this is just the sort of thing I would expect from God, going around spreading plauge, death and destruction. I suppose that something should be done.

Or... The guy could just be a whacko, showing once again the correlation between whackos and God.

No way! The real God would order Dubya to kidnap Saddam and marry him!

That would make for a fine movie.

Will John Ashcroft and the Justice Department rush to the defense of poor brother Mitchell, who after all was only trying to express his religious faith by carrying out God's will?

Come on guys, get with the program!

I saw a Peter Popoff infomercial (hint: Randi did a bit of story on PP a while back!) and he promised that if you bought his book, then god would answer your prayer.

But wait, god is a gaurenteed answer to your prayer if you buy the book!

Not bad, eh?

That old boy from Utah should have just bought the book instead.
