Bibleman

I learned of this over on SC. Fundamentalists really don't have to be mocked. They seem to be fully able to make themselves look stupid on their own. www.bibleman.com

Apparently, there's a Biblegirl, too. I guess her superpower is supersubmission to Bibleman's will.

What? No screenshots or free videos? Apparently Bibleman only reaches out through videos and DVDs.

I saw a clip of "Bibleman" on some VH1 show a while ago (I think he used to be somebody) and decided that Bibleman falls under what I term the "George Costanza Syndrome" : someone else acting in such a manner that I myself feel embarrassed for them to the degree of actually squirming, simply by seeing it. Empathic humiliation.

The original Bibleman was Willie Aames (who also wrote and directed the first series, at least) of Charles in Charge and Eight is Enough fame.

I will always remember him best, though, as Hank in the D&D cartoon.

Charles in Charge? Wow. What a career change. Idiotic crap spewing from the screen and soiling the eyeballs of anyone who watches while it reduces their brains to moldy cheese. And then he did Bibleman, too.

I would sell my soul to write for that show!

But they'd probably fire me once they realized what I was doing.

Mad TV had a lovely spoof of Bibleman. I've only seen two clips. Unfortunately, I don't remember them well enough to comment.

Does anyone else think it's sad that christians have to hijack pop-culture (aka the tool of Satan) to [try to] make their cult more appealing?

Some might interpret that as a sign of decay.

I don't know that it's decay so much as rolling with the times. God has 500 cable channels and the internet to compete with for the souls of America's youth.

I am the lucky owner of every D&D episode. That was the only cartoon that ever made me want to get out of bed on Saturdays. Of course, it's also the cartoon that got me into D&D which drew me deeper into the bowels of el Diablo and condemned my soul to Hell. [sigh]

You know, I watched that show for weeks, and never noticed, until my much younger sister pointed out, that Venjur only had one horn. Go figure...

Pretty good roll.

Assuming, of course, that since Jesus is perfect, he's playing 2nd Edition, not 3rd.

Wasn’t there a thread that equated Christians to the borg a little while back?

Well the woman on the left is unhappy because, well, it's her Christian duty to be unhappy. Bibleman himself is constipated. It's hard to relieve oneself through the armor of God.

Why do BibleMan and his minions need all that equipment? Is the power of the holy spiritTM not enough?

Well, normally it is. But Lex Luthor has been developing a new purple kryptonite that neutralizes the Holy SpiritTM. His armies of robots are armed with these powerful new weapons, and by using ninja kung-fu moves the robots are trying to send Bibleman and his friends to Pee-Pee Hell.

Say what? Jesus didn't need to look cool when he was nailed to the cross. Perhaps if Jesus had a light saber things would have turned out different.

- Look at that picture. Chrome armor, a lightsaber, cool gadgets, foam padding.

- Now read the bible.

- Friends, if ever there was a more hopeless disparity, this is it. Furthermore, it's hard to even have much pity on the poor kids who are actually raised with... um... "bibleman" as their hero.

Johnny: "Let's play cops n' robbers!"
Jeff: "Nnnnaaah, mom says that's too violent."
Johnny: "Well then let's play cowboys n' indians!"
Jeff: "Nnnnahh, mom says indians were heathens."
Johnny: "Okay, let's play superheroes!"
Jeff: "Okay!! Get ready forrr.. BIBLEMAN!" *strikes pose*
Johnny: "Uh dude, I'm going to have to kick your ass now." *beating commences*

Anyone else remember Family Guy? I’m reminded of the episode where the Catholic grandfather convinces Chris to stop “what he does in the bathroom”, or he’ll burn in Hell.

LMAO Family Guy was great. I heard rumours they're bringing it back, or trying to. Anyone know? I might actually turn on my TV for some other reason than sports and xbox.

You can't be sure with American TV.
