American behind oil for food scandle!
Im just exaggerating..........quite a bit. THe reason I post this story is cause there are some out there who imply that the oil for food kickback money was the real reason France, Russia ect. were against the invasion.
I allways thought that was bunk. While there were individuals and companines making a mint off this scam, I dont believe the countries leaders were in on it. And i dont belive that was the motive hehind their stance. U.S. Man Charged in Oil-For-Food Probe An Iraqi-American businessman pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges that he received payments from Iraq to illegally act as its agent in the United States, including getting millions of dollars worth of oil from the United Nations' oil-for-food program. Samir A. Vincent, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Annandale, Va., entered the guilty pleas in federal court in New York to four criminal counts, including conspiring to act as an unregistered agent of a foreign government and tax violations, according to Attorney General John Ashcroft. Vincent faces up to 28 years in prison. |
