Danish physicist Jens Martin Knudsen-RIP

(I just thought this danish physicist deserved a thread, even though probably only danes recognize him).

Edited to add: God artikel: http://www.rumfart.dk/vis.asp?artikelid=73

"Mr. Mars". Bad news indeed.

Sorry to hear that, though I confess that I've never heard of him. What were his main discoveries and achievements? Something about Mars, I gather.

(I tried googling, but all of the pages were in gobbledy-gook).

I honestly don't know much about his scientific achievements, though he has authored many papers, and have received several scientific awards, and have also worked for NASA on some Mars projects. I primarily know him from the media where he was often interviewed about life on other planets and especially Mars. He was always very passionate on the subject, so he was always a joy to behold. A great communicator of science.
