Coincidence? : The car lover & 4D

Another case of "coincidence" ?

I went to visit a friend recently.
When I was about to leave, my automatic car refused to start.
I called my brother-in-law for help. He's a car fan and came right down to check. The car was started by my friend. But my bro-in-law took the trouble to meet us some where else to check the car.
He is the sort who loves cars enough to come and polish MY car for me for Free.

Until now, there was no apparent reason why the car couldn't start, but i think there must be some good mechanical reason.

What is more surprising is this.
After this incident, my brother-in-law had went on to buy a 4D (4 digit) ticket based on the license plate of my car.
And he won a some prize money when the result is out that week.

It seemed the car returned the favour to my brother-in-law for being caring.

Why does inanimated object sometimes seem to return your favour?

Note: This is an anecdotal account and not meant to prove anything. But is placed here for critical analysis.

My critical analysis is that you're nuts.

Next.

I have had cars like that, too.

I called my brother-in-law for help. He's a car fan and came right down to check. The car was started by my friend.

Typical situation. Car won't start, gets flooded. Somebody else is called, some talk commences, new person gets in and tries, car starts. Explanation: The solution to a flooded engine is, wait a couple of minutes and try again.

But my bro-in-law took the trouble to meet us some where else to check the car.
He is the sort who loves cars enough to come and polish MY car for me for Free.

Cool! Send him over to me . I have a very lovable car, in need of some polishing.

Until now, there was no apparent reason why the car couldn't start, but i think there must be some good mechanical reason.

There usually is.

What is more surprising is this.
After this incident, my brother-in-law had went on to buy a 4D (4 digit) ticket based on the license plate of my car.
And he won a some prize money when the result is out that week.

Well, someone had to win.

It seemed the car returned the favour to my brother-in-law for being caring.

Which favour? He just looked at it.

Why does inanimated object sometimes seem to return your favour?

Because coincidences happen.

Note: This is an anecdotal account and not meant to prove anything. But is placed here for critical analysis. [/b]
Now, assuming for a moment that your car has a mind: What exactly is it you are proposing it did? Did it change its licence plate to fit a premonition for the lottery? Or, did it rig the coming lottery to fit its licence plate?

Are your suggesting that not only does your car have a mind, but it is also able to:

Read the mind of your brother in law.
Influence him telepathically to buy a certain lottery ticket.
Rig the lottery so he wins.

Do you really consider that a possibility?

If yes, how on earth do you dare to drive that car? What if it decides it doesn't like you ?

Hans,

I'm quite certain that, if you are a friend living nearby and have a lovable car, my bro-in-law will come and polish your car .

The next thing, is that you wake up feeling jealous why he wins the 4D prize on your car license number. like me !

He certainly buys 4D on my car license number more often than I do. He certainly take care of MY car more often than I do.

I don't think the car has a mind.
My Bro-in-law probably doesn't need influnence to buy 4D on my car number. He do it often. But no reason why he has a higher chance of winning than me. I 've given up buying 4D for my car number. But he seems to have much success. But why?

I'll choose "SOMETHING rigging the lottery?". Unthinkable.
But there is no fear about driving a car with such ability, becoz...
While I own the car, I don't drive it at all. My wife does.

I'm not nutty enough to accept that my car has a mind of it's own.
But I'm certainly amazed at the possible "human-like" interpretation to this situation.

Now, all I have to do to answer your questions is to rearrange your sentences a little:

Sooo, since he buys 4D tickets much more often than you do, can you guess why he wins more often?

I'm not nutty enough to accept that my car has a mind of it's own.

Humanlike? Do you know any HUMANS who can rig lotteries?
