Schiavo ordeal now over! What news stories now most interest you?
I have sat on my couch for *hours* watching the Schiavo case unfold. I was mesmerized by the whole thing. Now that that is out of the way, I sat and made a list of some other favorite topics that would cause me to watch (say, CNN) for hours on end. They are:
The Fair Tax (*would* it be any better than the income tax and would everyone be treated fairly?) Illegal immigration especially along the Mexican border (not my favorite topic though...but I'd watch it some) Ramifications regarding outsourcing to China and their growing economy, use of resources, pollution...and how all this could play out to deviseness between our two countries/WW3 paranoia. Health insurance ( we can't allow unchecked insurance rates to be 15-20% a year as this becomes a ridiculous impossibility for working people/employers to afford) Big Tobacco unfairly singled out? stories. How the government bilked 220 billion out of Big Tobacco, and yet allows them to be in business so they can take tax money and settlement money from them. That in all fairness, there should also have been Big Alcohol and Big Fast Food, to *some* degree. .................................................. ............... Terrorism stories have grown old. No real news. We know we are disliked and will be attacked. What else is new? Michael Jackson? Who cares. Wew all know he is a different breed. it comes down to not if he has this fetish, wheich he does...but what exactly did he do *illegal*. No interest in this though because I think we can all fairly say that 8something* odd has been going on at neverland. Therefore, no real story here. Martha Stewart, Robert Blake, et al. Who cares?! (Robert Blake and O.J. should become golfing buddie and Martha could make them covers for their clubs!) Israel/Palestine stories. Yawn. Good luck in a settlement. |

I remain interested in the various peaceful and non-peaceful revolutions taking place all over the world.
This story is pretty worrisome. As is this. |

I've found the newest and most recent advances in stem cell research very interesting.
New harvesting technique skirts ethical and legal objections. |
