EVP - The truth REVEALED!!!

After listening to Art Bell live last night, I've been thinking about electronic voice pheonmenon. Now, reading Randi's commentary, I've seen a couple theories--the "ghost hunters'" equipment is picking up stray signals from baby monitors, or radios, etc.

I'd agreed with that theory--until last night.

I noticed that, whenever the EVP people where in a space that would produce heavy echo effects, such as a mausoleum, the "spirit" voices had a very heavy echo effect also. Huh... I mean, if these "spirit voices" are ghosts, speaking with some special sonic energy that's too magical for normal human ears to detect, then how come the "spirit voices" are bouncing off the walls, like ordinary sound waves would? Not to mention, how come the voices are always speaking in slurred English? What, no Cherokee ghosts? Nobody who spoke Spanish while they were alive?

And then it was suddenly obvious to me--

They're just people's voices. Ordinary, normal, living people. Specifically, people tagging along on the EVP excursions for the purpose of playing ghosts.

The EVP guys are just plain faking it, using the lowest-tech method of all--"Hey, Bubba, c'mere, whisper somethin' real spooky fer the tape."

you cant BEGIN to make an album, especially 8 tracks or more format, without all KINDS of weird "phenomena" showing up...so much so that it gives you ideas for musical parts sometimes. Its usually just interaction of the different sounds that makes you think you hear stuff

What about the voice that answered "I be [sic] about three." The voice was supposed to come from someone who died at three, but sounded very much like a fully-grown, perhaps later-aged adult. Ghosts age?

The EVP nonsense on C2C is really getting old. All someone has to do is reproduce the phenomena with decent controls, and I'll be open to the possibility the phenomena exists.

I'm curious to see if/how Randi handles the EVP challenge submitted while he was in hospital. I hope Randi kicks his rear.
