news article for skeptics,

Secret programs also have tended to spawn "fringe science" -- like antimatter weapons, psychics and telepathy -- because they were protected from outside scrutiny, said Sharon Weinberger, author of "Imaginary Weapons: A Journey through the Pentagon's Scientific Underworld."

She contends that the Defense Department, citing a need for secrecy to protect national security, is in effect shielding "bad science" from peer review at a net loss to taxpayers.

Smile Domestic ESP spying

A gigantic waste of money....all they'll find out is that all the straight men in the country want to have a weekend in the Bahamas making love with Angelina Jolie, and all the gay men in the country want to have a weekend shopping with Angelina Jolie.

Well, first off, the ESP is to probe people's minds...to find out what they're thinking about. So it's not about who Jolie is doing, it's about who wants to do Jolie.

And as for celebrities' sex lives...that's what we need psychics for! After all, they seem to have missed 9/11, because they're so busy figuring out whether or not Jennifer Aniston will ever find true love. (Here's a suggestion, Jennifer: personal ads. They work.)
