Point of fact, I was at that townhouse expolsion/fire on Monday - it was plenty hot and the FDNY was still knocking down little fires at 7:30 PM.

And did the FDNY turn out! Trucks from the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens, came to a fire in Manhattan.

Didn't see Sentinel there, I was going to go over and say howdy. . .

Smile Visceral feelings about Loose Change Nutters

I've been following this along for quite a while. At first I just thought of this particular batch of CTs as rather amusingly absurd and somewhat entertaining. But now I'm finding myself actually being angered by some of the asinine crap they do their best to spread and, unlike psychics and faith healers, apparently truly believe.

They have pretty much proven that they are immune to logic, evidence, and rationality, so there's no changing their minds. To me, they are of the same ilk as holocaust deniers and religious fundamentalists. Any evidence or argument that runs counter to their dogma is denounced as propaganda from The Enemy, whether The Enemy is the The Government(tm), the Eeevil Jews, or Satan.

While it might be satisfying on a visceral level, I'm not inclined to track each and every one of them down and choke the **** out of them just to make myself feel better.

Does anyone else have this kind of reaction? How do you deal with it? Should I just breathe deeply and ridicule myself later for getting all annoyed?
Yes, when I read the garbage that LC nutters and Holocaust deniers spout, I have the same urge to smack them in the head and rub their noses in reality.

But remember, these jerks WANT us to explode...so the LC and neo-Nazi nutters can appear as normal, reasonable, logical people, while defenders of truth and fact look like demented, raving idiots.

It's all psychology and knowing which buttons to push.

And now these CT Mother FXXking low life scum of the earth are finding ways to excuse the hijackers. They are taking the tragedy away from the victims and trying to make it about themselves. Dan died because a group of Islamic terrorists wanted to make a statement and hit America hard. They succeeded, and now these anti-semitic, or anti-government or anti-corporate, agenda driven slime balls want to make a name for themselves.

Yes there is no doubt in my mind that my government failed Dan, but it was through incompetence, institutionalized incompetence not some grand conspiracy, and even if it were a conspiracy how could anyone believe these losers could uncover anything. I am surprised if they figure out how to get their zippers down before peeing themselves.

I do not know how but slime balls need to pay for what they are doing. If you know who they are Email their employers, modified versions of this letter will be going to certain University boards of Directors. Do what ever you can to make the paranoia these pricks feel justified.

My heart breaks for your loss, Steve.
This post could have been written by my husband. He lost his cousin in the North Tower and we received the call on the Friday after the attacks as well.
When he first saw LC and later Alex Jones's Martial Law 9-11:Rise of the Police State, he was angry. It wasn't because he believed what was in those movies, but because they trampled the memory of Debra and the thousands of others who lost their lives.
Through this forum, I've shown him the work that Gravy, MarkyX, JamesB, Brainster and many others have done with TRUE respect to the lives lost on 9-11.
We thank you all for your time and tireless efforts.
*now I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy*

I'd say this was from the horse's mouth, but I know better:

http://loosechange911.blogspot.com/

"We have to take some of the Naudet's footage out (nothing imperative). Just making it a little bit better. I can't spend too much time on it, it's already set us back considerable.

Theater distribution deals are locked and loaded, all we have to do is finish the movie. That means interviewing people, tracking down footage, licensing it, etc."

Oh, yeah, roll out that red carpet Dylan, here we go - it'll be ready in time!

Now I know where all the gold went!

I tried to find the quote that we were challenged to cite its source, but I didn't even know which quote you were discussing. Was it the "My head asplode"?

Here in Texas, we've been familiar with Molly for a while. I've been familiar with her work since she was an opinion columnist for the Dallas Times Herald, which went defunct about 15 years ago. She can be funny, but her style is kind of grating after a while.

Barium question for those knowledgable in chemistry:

Would we not expect Jones to find barium if thermate was presend because it's a soluble element that was washed away?

I responded to a huntsman comment about thermate with johndoes comments in the 9/11 denialist on "Hannity and Colmes" thread.

I can't pull myself away from the LC train wreck - keep up the good work.

To quote Huntsman from another thread:

Frankly, you don't look for the ingredients that make up thermate, because they were involved in a multi-thousand degree fire. You look for the combustion and reaction products produced by thermate.

His argument is like claiming that a car engine can't run on gas, because no gas comes out the tailpipe.
He sums it up better than I can.

JohndoeX is saying that because some of the pilots had prior military training, they would have better weapons given to them to combat against hijackers.

Now, I am not a pilot and nor do I play one on TV, but was it standard practice before 9/11 to arm pilots with military experience knives? Or is JohndoeX talking about using their hands as weapons?

What a complete and utter moron.

This guy has absolutely no idea what he's saying, or of what it means when he says it.

Might as well urinate on their graves, while he's at it.

Anything more than their hands, and they're in danger if Claus is ever on their flight.

Right. The 'NWO', upon seeing their 9/11 conspiracy exposed further by Loose Change gaining a mention in a magazine, decided to blow up some trains in India and kill 200 people, to remind us all that terrorism exists. That makes sense, right? (Smashes head into desk until sight becomes blurred)

I posted this on another thread, but it seems kind of relative to this too. The pilots of FedEx flight 705 fought back against a guy armed with hammers, knife and a spear-gun! The hammer blows did the most damage to them, and the head injuries they received prevented them from ever piloting again.
It took 2 healthy men to restrain this nut, and they barely made it home alive. I don't thing anyone would voluntarily put themselves through that unless they were sure they would die anyway, like these guys did. Putting yourself and those around you in danger is not heroic.

Sounds awfully similar to what happened in Norway just a couple of years ago.

No. A next-door neighbor of mine from a few years back went through pilot training school and subsequently got hired by a Delta subsidiary. He had only a high-school degree, worked as a service manager at a car dealership, and had never flown even a private plane prior to the training school.

Just for clarification....

Just to be on the same page here, I scanned these puppies (readily available in my toolbox) with a metric scale next to them.
This is what we are talking about right?

Here's an interview with the Pilot. Very lucky man--remind me not to book any flights via Narvik..

Regnad's link to the Stanley knife is more in line with what I'd think of as a boxcutter.

The pic in The Fire's post is what I'd consider a wallpaper tripper (or some use similar to that.)

I wish someone, who wasn't banned and wouldn't mind getting banned, would post chipmunk stew pictures of the pilots and ask John to call up some of their relatives and crack some of his jokes about how he would have responded to the threat. Actually, maybe not, that punk would probably do it knowing he could still cower away in his psycho ward and lol himself to sleep.

Weren't they supposedly plastic handled box cutters though?

In that case, The Fire's pictures would be more correct.

Nothing against the reverse Nick Danger

Fire, I've done a bit of do-it-yourself work, and, for me at least, a boxcutter is something that can actually cut through a heavy cardboard box (not just the sealing tape on the box). Hence the name.

I also use a boxcutter for scoring drywall, cutting insulation batts, etc. I think they are more commonly called "utility knives" these days, but I'm old enough to remember them as a "boxcutter".

Your mileage may vary, as they say.

Quote:
He knew that his wounded crewmates could not last long against Calloway, so he assisted the only way he could. He pulled the control yoke all the way back to his chest, and rolled it to the left.

The DC-10 was executing a barrel-roll at nearly 400 miles per hour—something the aircraft had never been designed to do...the three struggling men were tossed about the galley area, alternately weightless and pressed upon by three times their weight in G forces. By now, the aircraft was inverted at 19,700 feet...

...Tucker initiated a series of wild maneuvers...Tucker abruptly threw the yoke forward, and sent the plane into a vertical dive...The diving DC-10 accelerated past 500 miles per hour, then past the instruments’ capacity to register. Flight 705 was now traveling faster than any DC-10 had ever gone, and was undergoing velocity stresses that the airframe could not sustain...

...Somehow, Tucker pulled from the dive, then reached across the yoke with his left hand to cut speed. At last he grabbed a radio headset and called Memphis.
But... that can't be! The plane won't ALLOW pilots to do that, right? I mean... it just can't happen!

Reality has this nasty habit of demolishing every CT claim.
