You'd think the University of Wisconsin wouldn't enjoy their professors abusing their position of power. I wonder how familiar the professor is with argumentum ad verecundiam. He can claim all he wants that he never forces his students to believe his theories. The fact is, by being in a position of authority and educating his students with mostly factual information, he's creating an environment where his students will be more likely to accept his woo beliefs as truth. I hope that at the very least UW will realize this and not allow him to teach this course.

man, its so annoying how instead of staying on the task of challenging the "Facts", these people spend a bunch of time on explanations on how basically the more people think something isnt true, the more likely it is, duh duh duh!!!! he says "wmd is a relatively little lie so people doubt it" but he argues that the 9/11 coverup is so big people have to believe it.
what?!?

When I was in school I knew that parroting the teachers beliefs was a good way to get a better grade, but it sure didn't mean I believed the stuff I wrote.

I guess that makes me unprincipled though.

OMFG

Quote:
The writers offer reflections on 9/11 and empire informed by the moral principles of their religious traditions as well as by the obligation to engage in thoughtful dialogue with those of other traditions
How about reflections informed by REALITY. Yeez.
