Citation for article where child bebunks psychic?

Hello All,

Could anyone please point me toward the article (Nature? Science?) that was published (I seem to recall in the mid 1990s) where a grade school student tests an alleged psychic (card reading I believe) and determines that her guesses are not different than random guessing? The 'psychic' went along--it was a young (less than ten?) student, but careful controls and some simple statistics ended up with a great article.

Thanks for any assistance. I tried Yahoo answers and receievd nothing useful (only one 'let me know if you find it' and one "psychics are real dood" response). I imagine that the JREF commnuity (long time reader, first time poster here) will be more helpful.

You might be thinking of Emily Rosa and her testing of Therapeutic Touch.

That's the only one that comes to mind. Emily was 9, and the study was published in 1998, in the Journal of the American Medical Association. There is a summary here:

Thanks for the information. This is indeed the article (and good evidence that human memory is reliable ) that I was trying to find. If anyone is interested, the full citation is: Rosa et al. 1998 "A Close Look at Therapeutic Touch" Journal of the American Medical Association 279:1005-10.

Thanks again.
