Rove Had Three Priests Cast Hillary's "Evil Spirit" From West Wing

Quote:
From NY Daily News

Her head didn't spin around, but Sen. Hillary Clinton was momentarily tongue-tied when a reporter asked what she made of Bush adviser Karl Rove bringing in three Catholic priests to cast her evil spirit from her old West Wing office - as reported in the new Rove bio, "The Architect." After a long pause, Clinton could say only: "I'm speechless." Asked if she thought it was time for a new exorcism in the White House, the possible presidential candidate laughed uncomfortably and said, "Ah ... let's talk about the American automobile [industry]," which is what she'd been discussing before Rove's name came up. ...

IIRC, Billy-boy used to imagine what FDR (I think) would say to him in conversations, while Hillary actually claimed to talk to the spirit of Elanore.

This is a joke, right? Rove didn't actually do that, did he? And if so, didn't the priests tell him exorcisms only work on the living? Does the Catholic church have a ground de-demonizing, re-hallo-ification ritual? Does it even recognize holy, normal, and unholy ground? Blessed and not blessed, sure, but negatively blessed?

Ehh, life is sad if I can't tell if claims of religious woo-wooism of highly placed religious conservative are real or a put-on.

Um, Hillary Clinton is still alive. How can she be an evil spirit? She may come back as one, but at the moment her spirit, evil or not, is firmly inside her body.

Unless Rove suspects her of a) bilocation, or b) time-travelling. Or perhaps she's an incorporeal spirit, but has the use of a puppet body when she needs it.

Although common sense ought to tell Rove that if Hillary actually had real supernatural powers, she'd have pulled a Willow on him by now. He's not an attractive man now, but he'd look even worse with no skin.

Yes, y'see, Hillary Clinton is actually a several-millenia old undead liche who astrally projects her image from inside her phylactery (I love that word and concept). Technically what Mr. Rove was doing was rolling a 1D20 saving throw vs. breath weapon.

Can we get verification that Rove actually did this?

It's politics. We don't need evidence.

Last I knew, Karl Rove was an agnostic if not an outright atheist, so this claim reeks.

It could be something to do with the fact that it's over three years dead and buried. Or, it was.

Not to be mean, I did something similar when I first came here.. I was reading one thread and clicked a link to some other thread in the forum and got confused which tab I was in and which was the most recent posts.. next thing I'm responding to a thread that was like 3+ years old.

I figure if this was actually said by Rove or someone near him, it was meant humorously. Something like "Yes, and we also called in three priests to clear Hillary's presence from the wing" meant in a sarcastic or hyperbolic manner.

I'm skeptical too. I think he may have had priests come in to bless the place, and might even have joked about exorcising Hillary's bad juju or some such, but I doubt this happened as reported by the NY Daily News.

Hahahahahaha! That's good stuff, if anything you'd need three priests to cast Rove's evil spirit out of the West Wing if there was such a thing
