9/11 Memorial - 2006
I guess I'll kick off the first "report from the field"....
It's all kind of a bit blurry for me as being down there from 8am to 6pm didn't really leave much time to reflect/mourn/etc. All those feelings really didn't hit until the commute home, so forgive me if this comes across a bit distracted. I'll hand it to the truthers... they had a solid contingent of black t-shirted... people. More than I thought would show, but I'm sure not as many as DylanCo hoped. All the regulars from the Saturday faction, plus a lot of new faces that were there to "educate" (most of whom had to have been skipping class to be there), each with a handful of a certain DVD. Being that there were so many new faces who didn't recognize our little group, we decided to have a contest on which one of us could collect the most copies by the end of the day. (A final tally has yet to be done, but I think I had a pretty good showing.) A couple scuffles broke out during the memorial. Signs reading "USA Did 9/11", "The Bush Regime Engineered 9/11" both temporarily fell victim to people who didn't take kindly to the message they stated. Some shouting, yelling, swearing, etc. from both sides popped up a couple times.* Unfortunately, this all went down while family members were reading the names of their loved ones. * I should state that the four of us kept our cool. Those shouting who were on our side were namely members or former members of the Armed Services. And while I wish these confrontations would've happened after the memorial, I can't really hold it against these guys for speaking their mind to these... people. Then the cameras showed up. And with them, Alex Jones. Gravy got a brief one-on-one with him, but I'll let the master tell that tale. For me, the low point of the day was when Jones got on his bullhorn, stood at the foot of the graveyard at St. Pauls chapel, and started preaching to the choir. As soon as he started to speak, the black shirts immediately dropped what they were doing, and flocked to the curbs to see their "father" in action. In hindsight, it boggles my mind that they have the audacity to refer to us as "sheeple". He then led his disciples in a repetitive chorus of "9/11 was an inside job." .... At Ground Zero. ........ On 9/11. The last time I saw such a sickening display of humanity was exactly 5 years ago. The highlight of the day for me (personally anyway), was going up to an active Army member, shaking his hand, and sharing a brief hug. I thanked him. He thanked me. And that was it. I immediately thought of my sister and brother-in-law who currently are over in Afghanistan and couldn't help but tear up a bit. Regardless of your stance on the war going on, these men and women are risking their lives. One has to appreciate that. All in all, I felt the response from John Q Public in regards to the truthers was one of either casual dismissal or downright anger. They definitely drew a crowd wherever they went, but for the most part, they were preaching to their own. More stories if/when I think of them. I gotta' go email my sis. Never forget. |

That's a good action, RealityBites! Cheers to you and the fellow 'sheep'.
To sad the troofers used 9/11/06 to scream out their BS while the people who died there on that day, five years ago, where remembered. Did you film all of this? |

I hope the NYPD set up a large perimeter? That the troofers didn't gbet close to GZ at all?
By the way, LOL at all their expectancies about getting a lot of airtime on the mainstream media. CNN didn't mention the CTs at all. How about the other channels? (Oh, I know, they are all controlled by the Zioniost) Anyway, my hat off to all of you who confront the deniers. Even if I lived in NY, I'm not sure I would be that educated to confront those morons. I really appreciate your effort. |

Wonderful account, the bit with the troofers all chanting in unison is scary.
They'll do anything to get media attention and all without one-thought to the consequences. |

The black shirters with their chanting is a rather frightening image. I'm glad you guys were there to represent reason.

Now now, I'm sure you didn't mean to compare them to a group of facist Nazi followers, now do you?

It was beautiful. Just getting a chance to shake the hands of so many firefighters, police officers and men in service was the highlight of my day.
A close second is being briefly harrassed by a gentleman that I am 99.999% sure is JohnDoeX. I was watching some of the more idiotic truthers get into a loud shouting match with a woman (not a heck of a lot of the silent reverence on their part promised by Avery), when I hear, "Are you enjoying this Abby Scott?" He later came up and asked me some questions about my suppressing people and Sibel Edmonds without letting me answer. When he told me he wasn't into this controlled demolition stuff, I said, "You are JDX, aren't you!" When he was finished not listening to me, one of the other truthers said, "He wasn't very nice." Not all of the truthers were nutsos. Some listened when we spoke, some shook their heads and looked away from Gravy's photo evidence and quotes, some talked about how you can fold a 20 dollar bill into the Twin Towers. I want to commend Debunking911Myths, a recent addition to this forum. She was incredibly brave, extremely knowledgable, patient and reverant. Mark Roberts had to be seen to be believed. He was articulate, patient (as well as he could be) while not letting anyone that he could see get away with making false statements to the press. In fact, by the end of the day, it had incredibly clear to many folks that this was the man who knew what he was talking about. I was speaking with a few conspiracists, volunteer fireman, the girlfriend of another fireman and a bunch of onlookers when I was asked for proof of the quotes from firemen re: WTC7. I asked where was Mark's binder when I saw Gravy wave. Immediately, the crowd parted for him and many cheered. And where Alex Jones would have rushed in and started feeding off the conflict and hoots and hollers, Mark modestly said, no, no, this wasn't a time for cheering. I cannot say how glad I am that these black shirts didn't get the media attention they had counted on. This day was not for them. |

So... when they were all standing together, in black, chanting slogans... none of them looked around and said, "wait as second! I think we're the bad guys!"

Perhaps something for another thread (this one is for sincere and heartfelt congratulations and thanks!!!!!!!!), but I would love to purchase (y'all have earned profit on this) a copy of said binder; as I have written elsewhere, we have a member of "scholars for 9/11 truth" on our faculty, and if anyone ever wants a debate, I can't think of a better resource to have on hand.

Countdown at "Ground-Zero"
I too wish to say thanks for your report on today's activities at GZ. It was a somber day for America as well. You have described a familiar song-and-dance, all too reminiscent of the Nixon years.
Evidently, few, (if any,) of your respondents have ever had the chance to actually work in the trade towers, or live near them as I have done. My best friend from high-school owns a loft building on Hudson St where I stayed off and on for about 2 years. "Doc" was pronounced with a terminal illness shortly after 9/11, and we've yet to see what may become of his health as a result of breathing what he and his wife described as:" 1" of dust throughout the apartment, and 3" or 4" on each window sill." Only through 'complete pulverization' could such an event occurr this far from the site. I have seen two such demo-operations 'live,' and seen about 12 early documentary films from the work of Controlled Demolition, Inc. This info was circulated widely, (some on VCR tape) right up until the time Controlled Demo. took center-stage in the NYC Metro area. Their first job-site was in New Jersey, just East of the big racetrack. (Dogs, horses, I forgot which?) Being an 'Arkie,' (and therefore, anti-Texan from birth,) I noticed their sign right away, and when I asked my friends at Turner Construction about their presence in this market, they were unable to comment beyond the usual things the trade-journals had to say. They were just 'clearing land' for some major public-works type project, and my bet is that there is broad physical evidence of CDI's work there today. Elsewhere on this site, I notice some of your readers have made note of my final descriptive narative about the "take-over" of the Twin Towers. My story is certainly difficult to read, and I apologize foir my arcane use of language. It took me all of 3 years to carefully explain these events with this degree of clarity. Unlike the live witnesses,or those who were tied to the properties through their careers, I was, however incidental, an actual 'participant' in the act of murder. This makes me especially vulnerable in the face of Dr. David Ray Griffin's complaint; that there is a MORAL imperative beneath the '9/11' issue for all of us. The 'theory' behind the [sic] "War on Terrorism" is that one should be "safe, not sorry." Where then is it manifest that we should not all take the same outlook, when it comes to addressing the clear and present dangers built into our now dysfunctional 'two-party' Corporate Government? Today, my Doctor and I stood in the rain for 3 hours with a huge sign that read: "9/11Truth!" He too believes this is THE sentinal issue of our time, and he's running for the Arkansas Legislature, just to make this point loud and clear. |

furthermore, "complete pulverization" is counterproductive as far as CD is concerned, mountains of dust are much more difficult to clean than large chunks, and as you can see it can cause severe health problems
as wildcat says, its a result of the release of gravitaional potential energy the towers weighed about 900,000,000kg, at an average height of 200m 900,000,000x200x9.8 = 1,764,000,000,000, thats 1.7 terajoules of potential energy PER TOWER, thats the equivilent of about 600 tons of TNT |

I have only been in this forum a short while but it has been immensily obvious to me how much Gravy knows his stuff and, perhaps more importantly, how good he is at getting it across.
I would have loved to see him in action, but I already have a mental picture which would be pretty hard to top! He could debate that the Earth is a cube and win. Thanks to all of you for flying the flag of rationality. I am so glad the black-shirts weren't able to get much camera time. But how did you guys manage to keep your cool? I would have lost it, for sure. |

I really just want to say exactly the same thing.
Although I think I'll add in my own words that I have the utmost admiration for you guys for the fact that while the deniers/revisionists make obnoxious fools and [rule8]s of themselves, you show dignity and honour, and respect for the bereaved. Realitybites, that was a well-written, heartfelt summary. Again, thanks very much. |

I was there yesterday, couldn't find Gravy and the gang amid the crowds, not for lack of looking though. I got there late, after all the ceremonies (around 10:30) and spent a good long time wandering the site. Some highlights for me:
1. Two Marines, in uniform, arguing with two Troofers, with two of NY's Finest standing and watching. I think the Marines would've gone after the Troofers if the cops hadn't been there. I also think the cops wouldn't have stopped them if they had. 2. Walking up behind a reporter talking to a Troofer on camera, saying "You realize this guy's full of (rule8)", and walking away. 3. Ringing the bell. 4. Hearing the names being read.... really brought it home for me. I'd say there were maybe a hundred Troofers there, all in their black shirts. I couldn't help but think of the Italian fascist Blackshirts. |

This was my first time joining the gang at GZ. While I live in DC, I'll be back from time to time on Saturdays. Their antics at GZ (spewing nothing but lies especially on 9/11, with some such as Alex Jones disparaging the FDNY) annoy me, and they can't be the only voice out there talking to tourists and reporters. Granted (fortunately), the only reporters talking to them were from minor media outlets and didn't have press passes to get into see the actual ceremonies for the families. Major outlets such as NBC, and we ran into a group of reporters from Australia that said explicitly that they were here for the families and wanted nothing to do with the truthers. We ran into Dylan (snapped a picture), and Alex several times (his behavior was especially outrageous). I was hoping maybe to get a picture of him being arrested, but fortunately the scuffles never got that nasty. I'm staying across the street from the WTC site, so went back down there and walked around late at night when the place was devoid of truthers. There were several firefighters there with a firetruck equipped with televisions showing footage of that day. For quite a while, the firefighters were telling stories to a small group of us.

A highlight (don't know if I'd call it that) was a scuffle between an ironworker who worked here in the recovery efforts, and the truthers. My camera can take some short video clips. Will post, and provide link when I get up to 15 posts here.

I just want to add, I'm very impressed with Mark and his binder. He was very well spoken in explaining everything, and a treasuretrove of facts and information. Many of the truthers turned their heads away from the binder when Mark pulls it out. They can't face the facts.
