Tonight there will be something on ABC world news news about a camp where they train children to be "solders" of "God" by teaching them to physically fight.
It will be on in about 15 minutes here on the west coast. Any thoughts, opinions on it after it airs? (For those of you on the west coast, tune to ABC news right now). Any thoughts? |

It'll probably be about the movie of the same name that I've seen several commercials for:

Thank you for pointing out that link.
Below is a synopsis of the movie (which the ABC news story was covering). It also shows the increasing influence of Christianity in the United States. In the ABC news documentary, it described and showed Children worshiping posters of George W. Bush, speaking in tongues, and smashing cups with words like "abortion," "homosexuality," and "evolution."

Wha...?
Nyah. Xian fundies have always wanted control over this country. The good news is that there are, according to Jack Van Impe, 33,800 sects of protestant Xianity in this country. Any one of them would fight to the death to not see one of the other 32,999 sieze control. Jesus camp. Wait until they hit the rebellious stage, then it will be Cradle of Filth and King Diamond in the ipod... Not worried....*yawn* think I'll go do something productive... |

And sadly, they are gaining that control every day.
Taking out everyone else with them (including the non-religious). Then it will be DEATH TO THE INFIDELS! (Meaning anyone that does not follow their guidelines, including non-Christians). Yeah. After they ruin the world, there will not be much to worry about anyways. Have fun with that productive thing, while there still is a civilized world. |

eh,
On the other hand, I can smell their fear. ![]() Openness, learning, and new ideas are deadly to them. They are like weedkiller. And more than that, the weird laws they pursue and think are meaningful do not lead to a better society. There is no utopia at the end of where they are trying to head the country and people are starting to notice. The United States especially, is on a precipice of a huge state of change. It may get a little worse for a while but I don't think they will win. WoooOOOOooooo... |

Though not apparently this group, NPR's Fresh Air had a segment about a month ago on the movement in general, and the founder of a new fundamentalist Christian college which is hoping to graduate the next generation of Christian leaders.
This tiny college at present furnishes some 80% of all Congressional aides, it's founder having "friends in high places". These folks are both fundamentalist and militant, having as a stated goal the "Christianization" of the government. |

We are seeing what a 'Christianized' government looks like right now.
This is it in all its glory. |

That's probably Patrick Henry College in Virginia? I read a rather chilling article in the New Yorker about it quite a while (over a year) ago. Apparently many White House and Congressional interns are drawn from the ranks of its graduates. I'd be surprised if it were 80%, though-- I don't think the college is big enough for that, and even if it were, all Republican and a substantial number of Democratic congresspeople would have to hire its alumni in order for the 80% figure to be accurate.
