Has to be a conjurer trick, but how?

Now, if ten of you tell me this didn't work for you, I'm going to be real embarassed, but I found this looking for general trash on Psychics. (Who are generally conjurers of a sort....)

http://www.onlinepsychics.net/psychi...sp?pagecount=1

If I did it honestly, the trick was right every time. I'm not gullible - In fact, I'm more cynical than skeptical.

If you guys have an answer, I'd appreciate it.

If this is asking anyone to reveal trade secrets, I'll settle for a comment that it's a known trick or variation of a known trick. They're a psyhic site, after all. (But they do admit it's a trick.)

ETA: Sorry, I mis-spelled conjuror. (Not a word I use in my daily life all that often.)

Write down the cards in both groups. It'll become evident how the trick works.

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!

The sound of me banging my head against the wall!

Thanks - I feel like a total idiot, but it's why I love magic tricks. So damned obvious, but you don't look for the obvious, do you?

I did! See above!
(Glad I can laugh at myself! I'd be trying to phone the mods to ask them to delete deranged posts!)

Apologies, conjurors of the world.
I posted on the psychics forum (this came from a psychic site), and they do not follow your "rules of the trade".

I take it this is a common trick, though, and I haven't given away the keys to the kingdom, but I still like/honor your request not to reveal secrets, and am sincerely sorry if I transgressed (or inspired others to transgress).

On the final page of that 'trick' is this funny message:

Quote:
This is just a bit of fun, and is not meant to be taken seriously. If you can figure out how we do it, we'll give you 20% off your next reading.
Yeah... please, if I can figure out how you've just tricked me, you'll give me a 20% discount on another chance for you to trick me again... Classic con man stuff really. But annoying that the contradictory premise is thinly disguised as psychic mumbo jumbo whilst admitting it's a trick.

Commonly known as The Princess Card Trick! Derren brown performed and exposed this prior to his first TV show, which didn't go down well. It's hardly a miracle.
