Techie help. video -> jpeg ?

Well, it's 9/11 related so I hope it's OK to post this here.

Is there a nifty way to catch a single frame of internet video (flash for example) and convert it to a jpeg, gif or whatever? Google not a lot of help here, except for finding some pricey software.

If hitting "PrtScn" then pasting into an image app doesn't work for you, turn your hardware acceleration all the way down and try again.
That's one way...

and then there's this freeware:

and some shareware: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/S...o_capture.html

I've never used any screencapture specific software, so I can't offer recommendations in that regard.

Pause the video at the spot you want to capture. Make sure your mouse cursor is not visible over the video. Hit PrintScreen key. Open your photo editor software. Choose create new image. Hit Control-V to paste the screen, then crop as needed.

And if you need a freeware photo editor, try googling for GIMP.
