Twelve tribes

Twelve tribes is a communal "Christian" sect.

From an article in the local paper:

Quote:
He emphatically denies that founder Elbert Eugene Spriggs Junior has ever expressed racist views, despite speeches found on the Internet show otherwise
OK, there's a lot of false stuff floating around on the Internet.

Quote:
Responding to reports in the media that their group is racist against African-American and Jewish communities, Rivera says, "We are not racist. We do have beliefs about the races and men and women's relationships, but it is not like anyone is in any way, shape or form less than another person.
Well what are those beliefs? The reporter either didn't ask, or didn't get a response. Sounds a bit like "separate but equal".

Does anyone have information on this sect/

Looks like British Israelism to me. Snore. There are several groups like this out there. Same Identity/White Power/True Israel dogma, different URL.

Oh, but they're "not racist."

Locally owned and operated

I have many friends within the Twelve Tribes, they have a group locally here. They are on main streets of America and have cottage industries. They're nice people, their kids are well-educated and healthy. They've been in this community for over 20 years and we're very glad they're here. Their members are on our volunteer rescue squads, they're a gentle people who are the first to help if one needs assistance of any kind.

What's the question again?

They're not hiding from anyone, and have an open door policy for most vistors. There are a lot of accusations against them but none have yet to be proven. Should I go ask the ethnic (black) members of the group if they've experienced racism?

Ask them yourself when they take their roadshow to the mall in DC June 22 - July 5
