BT and telepathy

British Telecom are testing the potential of telepathy and thought waves for communication.

Not only, but also:

Computers that think like humans?

Robots that do housework (how long have we been hearing that one?):

And a billion times more processing power in 2020:

Given what I remember about BT, telepathy may well be an improvement over their service.

I was wondering that, too. Apart from "Hampton wick," I can't think of a phrase for "penis." I know plenty for other parts of the human body though...

The link doesn't work (at least it doesn't work for me), none of the photos appears, and there seems to be no discussion of the issues. As far as I can tell, there is no need to preserve this thread.

Common sense should. And yes, I'm well aware of the irony here.

I seem to recall hearing a similar rumour about two years ago.
Meanwhile, there's always this-

There's no need for snottiness.

It's not a question of voting, it's a question of judgment. As I've said in other posts, members should exercise some judgment when bumping threads. It appears to me that you did not apply good sense when you decided to preserve this thread, because there does not appear to be anything to preserve.

It was a sincere question, sir.

Here's another sincere question. Since we obviously disagree on this, whose "good sense" has precedence? You vote it should be deleted and I vote it should not be deleted. Why should your preference override mine? And I ask that sincerely, without any snot.

My apologies for misconstruing your intent.

I do not vote that the thread be deleted. I merely question your decision to have it preserved. In its day, the thread had a perfectly legitimate purpose. But now, the content is no longer obtainable, and what's left seems to have little value.

It has been suggested elsewhere that pruning threads is like burning library books. I do not think that is so. A librarian can tell you that libraries routinely discard books that are redundant or that have outlived their usefulness.

From what I could tell, this thread outlived its usefulness. It was going to be discarded in the ordinary course of events, but for your intervention to save it. I just don't see why that intervention was reasonable here.

Obviously we disagree on that point.

BTW - IMO this thread probably should (now) be preserved, but in the MAD forum..
